Set in Warwick House on Beacon Bottom, just outside Southampton, Kiddi Caru Day Nursery Park Gate is a warm and welcoming setting for children aged 0 to 5 years. We’re open Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 6:00pm, with a team who take the time to get to know every child and family.
We’re a short walk from Park Gate shops and a local park, and just before Swanwick train station, making drop-off and collection straightforward. Our garden leads straight into a forest area, giving children the chance to explore and enjoy the outdoors every day.
Wellbeing at Kiddi Caru Park Gate is built on fresh air, good food and a familiar rhythm. Our on-site chef prepares nutritious meals daily, yoga and multi-sports keep children moving, and daily outdoor play in the garden and forest area gives every child room to run, rest and breathe.
We keep families close to all of it. The GrandirUK app shares regular updates on routines, activities and progress through the day, and we host stay and play sessions, parents’ evenings, sports days and seasonal celebrations including Christmas, Mother’s Day and graduation. Our lending library encourages reading at home, and our team are always available in person or by email.
Children at Park Gate enjoy Boogie Mites, multi-sports, yoga, creative play and water play, alongside our education programmes supporting communication, physical development and emotional wellbeing. Outdoors they collect acorns, explore natural materials and watch for wildlife. We also head out into the community to the nearby park, the local shops and Whiteley.
Our nursery at Warwick House has four playrooms, each thoughtfully designed with age-appropriate resources, cosy spaces and engaging activities that support learning, independence and exploration.
Children progress through the rooms based on their readiness rather than their age, so every move happens at a pace that supports their confidence and development.
Outdoor space
Our spacious garden is divided into two areas to suit different age groups. Babies and toddlers have a safe, nurturing outdoor space of their own, while older toddlers and preschool children use a larger area designed for active play and exploration.
The garden leads directly into our enchanting forest area, where children enjoy mud kitchen play, climbing equipment and hands-on natural exploration. Time out there builds physical strength, confidence and a real appreciation for the world around them, which is at the heart of our Forest School and Eco School work.
Consistency is what makes care at Park Gate feel secure. Because so many of our practitioners stay with us for years, children see the same faces each morning and settle into an atmosphere where they feel safe, valued and encouraged to try something new.
Our curriculum blends approaches that suit how children actually learn. The Curiosity Approach encourages open-ended play and questions, STEM activities introduce early science, engineering and maths through hands-on problem-solving, and heuristic play uses everyday objects to spark imagination and independent thinking.
We believe children learn most when they are asking the questions. The Curiosity Approach shapes our rooms at Park Gate, with heuristic play offering natural, everyday objects rather than finished toys, and STEM activities inviting children to test ideas with their hands. Our forest area then gives that curiosity somewhere to go.
Life gets easier when both children start their day in the same place. Our four rooms at Park Gate mean a baby and a preschooler each get a space suited to them, while the shared garden and the walk out to the forest area bring them back together. When we have space, we will always do our best to find room for a sibling.
Katherine, our Nursery Manager, leads a team at Park Gate that includes two trained SENCOs and an Early Years teacher, so children with additional needs and individual learning styles are well supported. Many practitioners have been here for years, and parents often tell us how much their child’s confidence has grown as a result.
