Our impact

We want to make a meaningful difference to the children, families, people and communities connected to our nurseries.

That means providing high-quality childcare, investing in our people and nursery environments, caring for the environment and building strong relationships within the communities we serve.

Our responsibility extends beyond the nursery day. Through the choices we make and the way we work together, we aim to create lasting benefits for children, communities and the world they will grow up in.

Making a positive difference

Our impact reaches beyond the care and education we provide each day. From investing in our people and reducing our environmental impact to supporting the communities around our nurseries, we are committed to making thoughtful choices that contribute to positive change.

Supporting our communities

Working together to make a difference locally

Our nurseries are part of the communities around them, and we want to make a positive contribution beyond the care and education we provide each day.

Across our network, nursery teams, children and families support a variety of charities through fundraising, activities and community events. These experiences help children develop an understanding of kindness, inclusion and helping others while strengthening local connections.

Alongside network-wide initiatives, individual nurseries build relationships within their local communities, creating opportunities to support the people and places around them in meaningful ways.

Caring for our environment

Building a more sustainable future

We want children to grow up understanding the world around them and the role we all play in caring for it.

Across GrandirUK, we are taking steps to reduce our environmental impact through energy-saving and emission-reduction measures while embedding sustainability into children's everyday nursery experiences.

Inspired by the Eco-Schools approach, our nurseries encourage children to take part in practical activities such as growing plants, recycling, reducing waste and exploring the natural world. Through these experiences, children begin to understand how everyday choices can help protect the environment and develop positive habits that can last a lifetime.

Our network is committed to achieving and retaining the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award, helping children and teams work together towards a more sustainable future.

Nurturing our people

Creating opportunities to learn, develop and grow

The people across our nurseries make a meaningful difference to children and families every day. We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where colleagues feel valued, supported and able to thrive.

We invest in learning and professional development across our network, helping colleagues build their skills, confidence and careers. Our apprenticeship programmes play an important role in creating pathways into early years education and supporting long-term career growth.

We also want our teams to reflect the communities they serve. By working with schools, universities and employment organisations, we create opportunities for people from different backgrounds and stages of life to join and grow within the sector.

Turning learning into action

Building carbon awareness across our teams

GrandirUK is a Bronze Level Carbon Literate Organisation, becoming the first UK early years education provider to achieve this recognition.

Colleagues across our nurseries and support teams are completing accredited Carbon Literacy training, helping them understand climate change and the impact of everyday decisions.

By turning learning into action through individual and team pledges, our people are finding practical ways to reduce carbon emissions, minimise waste and use resources more responsibly.

Bronze represents an important milestone, and we are continuing to expand Carbon Literacy training as we work towards Silver status.
