Nursery apprenticeships at GrandirUK

Your apprenticeship combines practical experience in a nursery with dedicated learning and training.

You will work alongside experienced nursery practitioners who will support you as you develop the skills and knowledge needed for your role. Your learning will cover areas including child development, safeguarding and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

You will also have dedicated off-the-job training time each week to work towards your apprenticeship.

Most of your practical learning will take place in your nursery, giving you the opportunity to put what you learn into practice every day.

You will also complete off-the-job training, agreed with Realise and your nursery manager, as part of your apprenticeship.

Your apprenticeship includes dedicated off-the-job training time for learning and development.

This may include independent study, remote one-to-one learning sessions and webinars led by industry experts.

The expected duration depends on the level of apprenticeship you are completing:

• Level 2: 12 months, followed by approximately three months for your end-point assessment
• Level 3: 14 months, followed by approximately three months for your end-point assessment
• Level 5: 18 months, followed by approximately five months for your end-point assessment

Entry requirements will depend on the apprenticeship level and your existing qualifications.

For a Level 2 apprenticeship, English and maths GCSEs at grade 4 or above are helpful but may not be essential. If you do not already have these qualifications, there may be an opportunity to complete Functional Skills as part of your apprenticeship.

Depending on your existing qualifications, you may be able to start at Level 3. Realise can advise you on the most appropriate route when you apply.

To begin a Level 5 apprenticeship, you will need to have successfully completed Level 3.

You will have support throughout your apprenticeship from your nursery team and Realise.

Your nursery mentor and colleagues will help you put your learning into practice and develop your confidence and skills. Your Realise trainer will also meet with you regularly to review your progress and provide guidance.

Specialist support is also available for apprentices completing Functional Skills as part of their programme.
