Our Health and Safety commitment

Keeping children safe and supporting their health and wellbeing is fundamental to the care we provide across our nurseries. It is our top priority across all our nurseries that your child remains safe, healthy, and happy while in our care.

How we keep children safe

Our nursery teams follow clear policies and procedures expertly designed to create safe, supportive and nurturing environments where children can learn, play and develop with confidence.

Our approach includes:

  • Providing first aid and health and safety training for all individuals in our nursery teams
  • Ensuring qualified paediatric first aiders are always available onsite
  • Carrying out risk assessments and following procedures for recording and reporting injuries
  • Providing teams with appropriate clothing and equipment
  • Making health and safety information available to colleagues, families and visitors

Qualified and confident teams

Qualifications and training

Our nursery teams bring a strong foundation of early years knowledge, qualifications and training to their roles:

  • More than 60% of our nursery teams hold at least a Level 3 childcare qualification.
  • 1 in 2 colleagues is qualified in paediatric first aid.
  • Our teams complete training across areas including safeguarding, food hygiene, manual handling and health and safety.
  • Specialist training helps team members build the knowledge and skills to support the individual needs of children and families.

We support team members who want to work towards their Level 3 qualification, helping them develop their skills and progress their early years career.

Learning and development

Learning continues throughout an individuals career with GrandirUK. Regular training and development helps our nursery teams keep their knowledge and practice up to date.

Alongside essential areas such as safeguarding and supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), team members have opportunities to deepen their early years knowledge, develop their practice and build skills relevant to their role.
