Welcome to Kiddi Caru Day Nursery, Fareham located in a spacious converted building on Gosport Road, close to Hoeford Lake. We welcome children from birth to 5 years and are open Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm.
Conveniently located just off the main road, with nearby bus routes and Fareham town centre within easy reach, the nursery is well placed for families living or working in the surrounding area.
Inside, the character of our converted building creates a warm and welcoming nursery environment, with spaces designed around the different ages and stages of children in our care.
Children’s wellbeing is considered throughout the nursery day at Fareham. Our chef prepares nutritious meals fresh on site each day, with menus carefully planned and adapted to individual dietary requirements. Mealtimes are relaxed and social, giving children opportunities to sit together and enjoy this familiar part of their daily routine.
Regular opportunities to spend time in the garden also bring outdoor play, movement and fresh air into the nursery day.
Families can stay connected with nursery life through the GrandirUK App, with daily updates including photos, meals, activities and learning experiences. We also welcome families into the nursery for stay-and-play sessions and seasonal events, creating further opportunities to spend time with the team and share in nursery life.
Our learning bags can also be taken home, offering activities and ideas that families can enjoy together if they choose.
Children at Kiddi Caru Fareham enjoy a varied mix of experiences, including Boogie Mites, Sing and Sign and creative activities designed around their different ages, stages and interests.
Preschool children also take part in weekly sports sessions, including tennis, providing further opportunities for movement, coordination and active play. Across the nursery, children are encouraged to express themselves, explore their creativity and enjoy learning through a variety of hands-on experiences.
Our nursery in Fareham is set within a spacious converted building, with two open-plan playrooms located on the ground floor.
Children move between rooms when they are developmentally and emotionally ready, rather than simply because they have reached a particular age. Transitions are carefully supported by the team, with information about each child’s routines, interests and development shared as they move into their new environment.
Both playrooms offer a varied range of age-appropriate resources and materials, giving children opportunities to explore, create and follow their interests.
Outdoor space
Our playrooms have direct access to the garden, helping to make outdoor experiences a natural part of the nursery day and giving children regular opportunities to explore beyond their indoor environment.
Our large outdoor space includes a grassy area for exploring nature and growing, alongside a terrace used for experiences including sand and water play. Throughout the year, children have opportunities to move, investigate, discover and experience the changing natural world around them.
Quality of care at Fareham starts with getting to know each child as an individual. From their first settling-in visits onwards, our team take time to understand each child’s routines, preferences, interests and individual needs.
A key person provides a consistent point of contact for children and their families, while transitions between rooms are carefully supported as children grow and develop. This helps provide continuity throughout their nursery journey, with information about each child shared between practitioners and families as their needs change.
Our curriculum follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), with a child-led approach inspired by the Curiosity Approach. Practitioners respond to children’s interests and ideas, creating opportunities for them to explore, investigate and become actively involved in their learning.
Our education programmes — Sow & Grow, Move & Groove, Innovate & Investigate, Health & Self and Make & Bake — introduce children to a varied range of experiences across the nursery day, supporting their learning and development as they grow and prepare for their next stage.
At our Gosport Road nursery, children’s interests and ideas play an important part in shaping their learning. Inspired by the Curiosity Approach, practitioners notice what captures children’s attention and use these moments to create opportunities for further exploration, investigation and discovery.
Our two open-plan rooms provide flexible spaces for children to follow their interests, make choices and engage with a range of hands-on and real-life experiences, with practitioners there to support and extend their learning.
For families with more than one child, having siblings at our Fareham nursery means one drop-off and pick-up, while each child can enjoy the room, experiences and friendships suited to their own age and stage.
With both playrooms located on the ground floor, brothers and sisters are based within the same nursery environment, with opportunities to see each other and share parts of nursery life, including time in our garden.
Sibling places are subject to availability, but where we have space in the appropriate room, we will always look at the options for welcoming brothers and sisters together.
Led by Nursery Manager Karla, our Fareham team brings a range of Early Years knowledge and experience to the nursery, with an inclusive approach that recognises and responds to each child’s individual needs.
Each child has a key person who takes time to get to know them and works closely with their family, providing a consistent point of contact throughout their nursery experience.
Ongoing professional development also helps our practitioners continue to build their knowledge and skills, keeping their Early Years practice up to date.
