Kiddi Caru Day Nursery, Torquay

Mealtimes are one of the happiest parts of the day here. Our freshly prepared, nutritious meals give children the chance to discover new foods, learn from their peers, take part in preparing a meal and build healthy eating habits. Our sensory room offers a calmer alternative when a child needs quiet, and yoga in the yurt helps children settle their bodies and minds.

Our GrandirUK app keeps parents connected to their child’s learning journey with real-time updates, photos and key milestones. We also support learning at home through our lending library, where children can borrow books to enjoy with you, and home learning bags filled with activities and resources that reinforce new skills in a hands-on way.

Children in Torquay enjoy Sing and Sign, Boogie Mites, Mini Mites, yoga and cooking through the week, alongside our unique education programmes. Sessions often happen in our well-loved yurt out in the garden, and the three allotments give children a hand in growing fruit and vegetables from planting right through to harvest.

Our playrooms are thoughtfully arranged across the site to support every stage of development in a calm, safe environment, and they are named after the seaside on our doorstep.

Children move through these rooms with care and at their own pace, supported to develop with confidence at every stage.

Our sensory room is an integral part of our baby room programmes, and children across the nursery love it for the way it gets their imaginations going.

Outdoor space

We have a large, secluded and private garden space, with a dedicated baby garden and a separate area just for under twos. Mud kitchens are dotted throughout, and our three allotments let children tend fruit and vegetables from start to finish.

Best of all is our yurt, an all-time favourite that we use regularly for lessons, yoga and Boogie Mites sessions.

High standards of care and education are something we work at deliberately in Torquay. Children move through the nursery with care, peace and dedication behind them, supported by colleagues who notice what each child needs and act on it rather than waiting to be asked.

Our curriculum is tailored to each child and focused on nurturing confident communicators, independent learners and meaningful friendships. Inspired by the Curiosity Approach, we fill the nursery with natural resources that spark creativity and independent thinking, supporting each child’s whole development.

We believe curiosity is something you make room for Inspired by the Curiosity Approach, our Torquay nursery is a calm space filled with natural resources rather than plastic and noise, and children are trusted to think for themselves. As an Eco -School we take that outdoors too, where three allotments teach children where food actually comes from.

Our rooms take children from Sandcastles through to Lighthouse, so siblings at very different stages both fit here. They share the same secluded garden and the same yurt, and one trip to The Willows covers both. Places depend on availability, but we will always look at what we can offer a family.

Kiddi Caru Torquay has a dedicated team of experienced, longstanding colleagues, with Helen as our Nursery Manager. We have a qualified Level 3 SENCo, and a strong focus on mentoring, training and continuous professional development that supports our team to keep growing alongside the children.
