Meals at Plympton are prepared daily by our on-site chef, with a variety of nutritious options to keep children going through busy days. Our sensory room offers a calm, quiet space for small group sessions and sensory exploration, and yoga gives children a gentle way to build strength and settle themselves.

We value strong relationships with families and believe communication is key. Our GrandirUK app shares detailed handovers, photos, daily routines and activities so parents feel connected through the day. We offer story sacks, home learning bags and a small library area for shared reading at home, and host two parents’ evenings each year alongside an annual celebration that brings families together.

Children in Plympton enjoy Boogie Mites, Sing and Sign and yoga through the week, alongside French sessions that introduce a second language early and playfully. These experiences support communication, physical development and early learning, and they help children grow into confident, curious preschoolers ready for what comes next.

Our nursery is bright, airy and thoughtfully designed to support children’s development, with every room well equipped with high-quality resources and a variety of engaging daily activities.

• Willow Room: A nurturing baby room offering a calm, secure environment for first experiences.
• Cedar, Birch and Beech Rooms: For young toddlers, with opportunities to explore, develop new skills and build independence.
• Oak and Elm Rooms: For older toddlers, with creative, stimulating activities that encourage curiosity and confidence.
• Preschool Room: A purposeful space preparing children for school, supporting early literacy, numeracy, problem-solving and social skills.

We focus on children’s readiness rather than their age when they move between rooms, so each child feels confident and supported when the time comes.

Outdoor space

Our spacious garden has grassy areas, soft-matted zones and a concrete playground, giving children the freedom to get outdoors in all weather.

We are currently developing an allotment, a mud kitchen and new wooden play equipment, which will add more to outdoor learning and imaginative play in the months ahead.

Consistency is what makes the care here work. Because so many colleagues stay with us for years, children in Plympton see the same trusted faces day after day, and families build real relationships with the people looking after their children rather than starting again each term.

Our curriculum follows the Early Years Foundation Stage and Birth to 5 Matters, and we deliver our unique education programmes, Pathway to the Future and Foundations for the Future. Through imaginative play, outdoor learning and child-led discovery, children build essential skills, confidence and independence.

We believe the strongest foundations are built by children who feel properly known. At Plympton many of our team have been here more than ten years, so children grow up among familiar adults. Our Pathway to the Future and Foundations for the Future programmes give that security a purpose, building the social skills that carry children into school.

Rooms at Plympton run from Willow through to preschool, so siblings several years apart both have somewhere that suits them. They share the same garden and the same sensory room, and one trip to Langage Business Park covers the family. Second places come down to availability, so please ask us and we will see what is possible.

Our long-standing team is at the heart of Kiddi Caru Plympton, with Karen as our Nursery Manager. Many colleagues have been with us for over 10 years, and the team includes Level 6 practitioners, apprentices and experienced SEND Coordinators who work closely with families throughout a child’s time here.
