Kiddi Caru Day Nursery, Wellingborough
22-24 Farm Road, Wellingborough, NN8 4UFFind out more

Set on Park Road in the heart of Rushden, Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool is just a short walk from the high street. We care for children aged 0 to 5 years, Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 6:00pm, in a warm and welcoming environment where children can feel at home.
Rushden Lakes is just five minutes away by car and the A6 is close by, making us convenient for families travelling from Bedford, Northampton and the surrounding villages. Families often tell us the nursery feels like an extension of their own home.
Wellbeing at our Rushden nursery starts with the surroundings. Low-lit rooms, natural décor and plants throughout help children feel relaxed, and our nursery chef cooks healthy, seasonal meals and snacks on site each day. A therapy dog visits every Thursday and Friday, helping children regulate their emotions and connect with their friends.
We value open communication with families and keep parents updated through our GrandirUK app with their child’s routine, activities and development. Monthly meetings, tea-and-cake sessions and regular family events bring everyone together, and our Swap Section for clothing, toys and books, along with spare meals offered at the end of the day, supports both sustainability and our local community.
Children at our Rushden nursery enjoy Boogie Mites, Sing and Sign, Forest School sessions, nature walks and creative exploration, all supporting communication, movement, creativity and emotional well-being. Weekly outings take children to local parks, the library, woodland areas and Forest School sites, so learning regularly happens beyond the nursery gate.
Our cosy, low-lit rooms and natural décor give the nursery a genuinely homely feel, with soft lighting, natural resources and plants throughout. Each room is well resourced and offers learning opportunities matched to children’s development.
Children move into the next room when they are ready for it, and our team talk each transition through with parents beforehand.
Instead of an office we have a parent hub, with comfy sofas and chairs, where families can sit down with our team to talk about their child’s nursery life.
Outdoor space
Our large garden offers endless opportunities for outdoor play and is part of the daily routine rather than an occasional treat. Children enjoy the hobbit house, a mud kitchen, a herb garden, a compost area and water play, alongside open space for climbing, running and imaginative play.
These experiences support physical development, connection with nature and independent learning, and the compost area and herb garden give children a hand in looking after the space they play in.
Childcare here is built on knowing children well. Because so many of our colleagues have been at the nursery for years, children are cared for by adults who understand them, and families can raise anything with us in the parent hub over a cup of tea rather than across a desk.
Our curriculum centres on the Hygge approach, with heuristic play and hands-on exploration letting children learn at their own pace. Alongside our bespoke education programmes, these experiences build confidence, communication and physical skills.
We believe a calm room makes for a curious child. Our Rushden nursery follows the Hygge approach of soft lighting, natural materials and plants in every space. We believe in this approach because children who feel settled are the ones who become confident enough to investigate and explore. Heuristic play and hands-on exploration let them set the pace themselves.
Brothers and sisters at our Rushden nursery may be in Olive, Juniper or Elm, but they share the same garden, the same low-lit, homely feel and the same team who know your family. That makes a single drop-off on Park Road much simpler. Places for siblings depend on what we have free, and we will always look at what is possible.
Karen, our Nursery Manager, heads a long-standing team at Rushden, with many colleagues here for more than 18 years. Several come from teaching backgrounds, which strengthens our school readiness programme, and a qualified SENCo practitioner supports children with additional needs. Children grow up seeing the same trusted adults right through nursery.
