Welcome to Kiddi Caru Day Nursery Abington Park, set in a renovated townhouse on the corner of Wellingborough Road and Lime Avenue in Northampton. We welcome children from birth to 5 years and are open Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 6:30pm.
Abington Park woodland is directly opposite the nursery, putting green space within easy reach for outdoor experiences and exploration. Inside, six rooms across two floors give each age group a space designed around their stage of development.
Feeling secure is an important part of life at our Abington Park nursery. Rooms are thoughtfully arranged each day around the children using them, mealtimes are relaxed and sociable, and the gardens give children plenty of opportunities to move, climb, explore or spend time at a quieter pace.
We keep families closely involved through parents’ evenings, stay-and-play sessions and daily updates on the GrandirUK App, sharing activities, progress and the moments that make up their child’s day.
Our all-inclusive fees cover nappies, wipes, milk, bottles and food, giving families fewer everyday essentials to pack and bring with them to nursery.
Children at Abington Park enjoy music sessions, creative play and purposeful learning experiences that build on their interests and give them opportunities to explore new ideas.
With Abington Park directly opposite the nursery, regular outings are a real part of the week. Visits to the park, the lake and other community spaces give children opportunities to explore beyond the nursery, experience nature and become more familiar with the neighbourhood around them.
Our nursery in Abington Park is set in a renovated townhouse arranged over two floors, with six bright, calm playrooms. A wide staircase runs through the centre of the building and leads to our parent area, where families can browse useful information and take resources home to use with their child.
Each of the six rooms is thoughtfully arranged around the needs and interests of the children using it. Our youngest children have nurturing spaces designed around their stage of development, while older children have environments that encourage exploration, conversation and growing independence as they progress towards preschool.
Children move into their next room when they are developmentally and emotionally ready, rather than simply based on age. This allows each transition to be shaped around the individual child and gives them time to become familiar with their new environment.
Outdoor space
Our large gardens give children plenty of room to climb, dig, explore and take on physical challenges, alongside quieter corners where they can spend time at their own pace. Mud kitchens and planting areas encourage hands-on exploration, while the growing garden gives children opportunities to plant, tend and return to what they are growing over time.
Outdoor experiences provide opportunities to develop physical skills, explore alongside others and learn more about the natural world. Our Eco-Schools accreditation reflects our wider focus on helping children understand how they can care for the environment, while Abington Park woodland directly opposite the nursery extends these experiences into the local community.
Consistency is an important part of care at Abington Park. Familiar faces and a steady daily rhythm help children know what to expect, giving them a familiar foundation from which to play, explore and learn.
Families are part of that picture too. By sharing information and keeping communication open, our team can get to know each child as an individual and provide care that reflects their routines, interests and needs.
Our broad and balanced curriculum is shaped around each child, drawing on elements of Hygge, Curiosity and Reggio approaches. Children have opportunities to follow their interests, explore new ideas and develop communication, creativity and problem-solving skills through play and purposeful experiences.
As children move through the nursery, these experiences support their growing independence and help prepare them for their next stage of learning.
We believe children benefit from calm, thoughtfully arranged spaces that give them room to explore at their own pace. Our renovated townhouse draws on elements of Hygge, Curiosity and Reggio approaches, with uncluttered rooms where children can make choices, follow their interests and investigate new ideas.
With Abington Park woodland directly opposite, that sense of curiosity can continue outdoors too, giving children regular opportunities to explore nature and discover more about the world around them.
With six rooms across two floors, brothers and sisters at Abington Park are often only a staircase apart. Siblings can each enjoy an environment suited to their own age and stage, while still sharing the same gardens, the same front door and the same familiar team.
For families, having siblings at the same nursery also means one drop-off and pick-up and one team getting to know the whole family. Sibling places are subject to availability, but where we have space, we will always do what we can to find places for brothers and sisters together.
Some members of our Abington Park team have been part of the nursery for more than 15 years, bringing continuity, familiar faces and a depth of Early Years experience to the setting.
Taylor, our Nursery Manager, leads the team, and every child has a key person who takes the time to understand their routines, interests and individual needs. Together, the team bring their Early Years knowledge and experience to supporting each child throughout their time at the nursery.
