Welcome to Little Monkeys Day Nursery at Rex House on London Road, in the centre of Horsham. We welcome children from 0 to 5 years and are open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm.
You will find us opposite Swan Walk Car Park, with The Rec Car Park just behind the nursery and Horsham station within easy reach. Horsham Park is right next door, with its duck pond, sensory garden and play area giving children plenty of opportunities to explore their local surroundings.
Feeling settled and comfortable is an important part of nursery life at Little Monkeys. Meals are freshly prepared using locally sourced organic ingredients, while babies have a separate sleep room for rest during the day. Our sensory room provides another dedicated space where children can step away from busier activities and enjoy a change of pace.
Keeping families involved in nursery life is important too. Through the GrandirUK App, families receive regular updates about their child’s day, while parents’ evenings twice a year provide dedicated time to talk about each child’s progress and development.
Our lending library, Stay and Play sessions and special events throughout the year create further opportunities for families to spend time at the nursery, meet the team and get to know other families.
ProTots visits our preschool children each week, while art, baking, singing, yoga and sport bring plenty of variety to nursery life. Each Easter, children also have the opportunity to watch chicks hatch, giving them a hands-on way to discover more about life cycles.
Our location close to Horsham Park and the town centre gives us plenty of opportunities to explore the local community. Daily walks take children beyond the nursery, alongside visits to places such as the library and Jasmine Court.
Our nursery is set across two neighbouring buildings, with bright, airy rooms organised around different stages of development. Children move into their next room when they are developmentally and emotionally ready, rather than following a fixed timetable based on age.
Across the nursery, our playrooms are well equipped with resources chosen to encourage creativity, exploration and problem-solving. Our dedicated school leaver room gives older children further opportunities to develop their confidence and independence as they prepare for primary school.
Babies also have a separate sleep room, providing a comfortable space for rest during the nursery day. Our sensory room and library offer additional spaces for sensory exploration, books and quieter moments.
Outdoor space
Our cosy garden is laid with soft AstroTurf and has a range of play equipment for climbing, balancing and active play. Children have regular opportunities to spend time outdoors throughout the year, exploring and developing their physical skills through play.
With Horsham Park next door, outdoor experiences can extend beyond the nursery garden too. The duck pond, sensory garden and play area are all within a short walk, giving children even more opportunities to explore their local surroundings.
High-quality care at Little Monkeys starts with getting to know each child as an individual. Our team take time to understand their needs, routines and stage of development, so the care and support they receive can be shaped around them.
Children move into their next room when they are developmentally and emotionally ready, rather than simply because they have reached a particular age. This helps each child make the transition at a pace that is right for them.
Our curriculum follows the Curiosity Approach, with child-led learning that happens in the moment. Alongside it we run our bespoke education programmes, Pathways to Foundations and Foundations to the Future, and our Eco Schools distinction reflects how seriously we take sustainability with the children.
Curiosity shapes how children learn at Little Monkeys. Drawing on the Curiosity Approach, our environment gives children opportunities to make choices, follow their interests and investigate what captures their attention through play.
That curiosity extends beyond the nursery too. Our Eco Schools distinction reflects our commitment to helping children explore the natural world and take part in experiences that encourage them to care for the environment around them.
For families with more than one child, having siblings at the same nursery means one drop-off and pick-up, while each child can enjoy a room suited to their own age and stage.
With our rooms set across two neighbouring buildings, brothers and sisters have their own spaces and experiences while still sharing parts of nursery life, including the garden and daily walks into the local community.
Sibling places are subject to availability, but where we have space in the appropriate rooms, we will always look at the options for welcoming brothers and sisters together.
Led by Nursery Manager Alice, our long-standing management team has been part of Little Monkeys for nearly 15 years, bringing continuity and a wealth of Early Years experience to the nursery. The team includes a qualified teacher and an Early Years teacher.
Across the wider nursery team, we also have designated safeguarding leads, Mental Health First Aiders and SENCos. This range of knowledge and experience helps us understand children’s individual needs and work closely with families to provide appropriate support.

Have a question or want to talk through your options? Our friendly nursery teams are here to help and provide the guidance you need.
