A short drive from Burgess Hill town centre and around ten minutes from the A23, our nursery is well placed for families living or working in Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath and the surrounding West Sussex villages.
Parking is available at the front of the nursery, helping to make everyday drop-offs and collections easier for families.
Children’s wellbeing is considered throughout the nursery day at Burgess Hill. Our chef prepares nutritious meals on site each day, with menus carefully planned around individual dietary requirements.
Mealtimes are relaxed and social, giving children opportunities to make choices, practise independence and enjoy eating together as part of their daily routine. Our dedicated sensory room provides a quieter space for sensory exploration and a change of pace within the nursery day.
Families can stay connected with nursery life through the GrandirUK App, with daily updates including photos, meals, activities and learning experiences.
Our Book for Bedtime lending library also gives families the opportunity to borrow books to enjoy together at home, while regular nursery events provide further opportunities to spend time with the team, meet other families and become involved in our wider nursery community.
Children at Kiddi Caru Burgess Hill enjoy a varied mix of activities and experiences, including music and movement, Sing and Sign, Boogie Mites, creative play, baking, sensory exploration and Forest School sessions.
These experiences give children opportunities to express themselves, explore different materials, enjoy movement and music and become actively involved in hands-on learning.
Regular outings also extend these experiences beyond the nursery, with children exploring Burgess Hill through visits to nearby play areas, local shops and familiar landmarks. These outings provide opportunities to discover their surroundings, interact with their local community and experience everyday life beyond the nursery.
Our Burgess Hill nursery has warm and welcoming playrooms thoughtfully designed around children’s different ages and stages of development.
Our baby room provides a nurturing environment designed around babies’ individual routines and early exploration, with access to its own outdoor space. Our toddler rooms offer a varied range of resources and experiences, with free-flow access to the garden providing further opportunities for play and discovery outdoors.
Our Preschool Room provides practical, hands-on experiences as children prepare for their transition to school, with access to a large outdoor play area.
Children move between rooms when they are developmentally and emotionally ready, rather than simply because they have reached a particular age. Each transition is carefully supported by the team, helping to provide continuity as children move into their new environment.
A dedicated sensory room is also available across the nursery, providing a quieter space for sensory exploration and a change of pace within the nursery day.
Outdoor space
Outdoor experiences form a regular part of nursery life at Burgess Hill. Our expansive outdoor area combines AstroTurf and natural grass, with an outdoor classroom, mud kitchen and Forest School areas providing varied opportunities for active play, exploration and hands-on experiences with nature.
Our nursery allotment gives children opportunities to plant and grow fruit, vegetables and flowers, care for them as they develop and experience how the natural environment changes throughout the seasons.
Produce grown and harvested by the children can also be used in Make & Bake activities, bringing together growing, food and cooking through practical experiences that help children explore where food comes from.
Quality of care at Kiddi Caru Burgess Hill starts with consistency and getting to know each child as an individual. Each child has a key person who takes time to understand their routines, interests, preferences and individual needs.
This consistent relationship also provides families with a familiar point of contact, supporting regular communication between home and nursery. Over time, practitioners can build a detailed understanding of each child and notice the small changes and milestones that form part of their nursery experience.
By sharing these observations with families, we can work together to provide individualised care that responds as children grow, develop and their needs change.
Our curriculum at Kiddi Caru Burgess Hill follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and is inspired by the Curiosity Approach and Hygge principles, with children’s interests and ideas playing an important part in shaping their learning.
Practitioners respond to what captures children’s attention, creating opportunities for them to explore, investigate, make choices and become actively involved in their learning.
Our GrandirUK education programmes, including Sow & Grow, Make & Bake, Innovate & Investigate and Move & Groove, complement the curriculum with a varied range of hands-on experiences. These give children opportunities to communicate, create, move, investigate and develop their knowledge and skills as they prepare for their transition to school.
At Kiddi Caru Burgess Hill, we create an environment where children have time and space to explore, investigate and become absorbed in their play and learning.
Inspired by Hygge principles and the Curiosity Approach, our rooms are thoughtfully arranged with natural and open-ended resources that encourage children to follow their interests, investigate their own ideas and make discoveries at their own pace.
Beyond the playrooms, our Forest School areas and nearby allotment provide further opportunities for hands-on exploration, giving children space to discover nature and take their curiosity outdoors.
For families with more than one child, having siblings at Kiddi Caru Burgess Hill means one drop-off and pick-up, while each child can enjoy the room, experiences and friendships suited to their own age and stage.
Brothers and sisters may spend their days in different rooms, but they remain part of the same nursery community, with opportunities to see each other and share parts of nursery life, including time in our garden and outdoor spaces.
Sibling places are subject to availability, but where we have space in the appropriate room, we will always look at the options for welcoming brothers and sisters together.
Led by Nursery Manager Laura, our friendly Burgess Hill team brings a range of Early Years knowledge and experience to the nursery, with practitioners holding qualifications from Level 2 through to Level 6.
Our qualified SENCo works closely with families and practitioners to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping to ensure individual needs are understood and appropriate support is considered.
Every child also has a dedicated key person who takes time to get to know their routines, interests and individual needs, while providing a familiar point of contact for their family throughout their nursery experience.
