Within walking distance of Haywards Heath railway station and close to local transport routes, our nursery is well placed for families living or working in Haywards Heath and the surrounding West Sussex area.
With parks, woodland and community spaces nearby, children also have regular opportunities to take their experiences beyond the nursery and explore their local surroundings.
Children’s wellbeing is considered throughout the nursery day at Elan. Fresh, nutritious meals form part of children’s daily routines, alongside opportunities for movement, yoga, outdoor play and exploration.
Our cosy library also provides opportunities for quieter experiences, with books and stories offering a change of pace within the nursery day.
Working closely with families is an important part of our approach. Through the GrandirUK App, families can receive updates about their child’s nursery day, alongside regular communication with practitioners about their activities, learning and development.
This ongoing communication gives families and practitioners opportunities to share information and work together throughout each child’s time at Elan Day Nursery.
Children at Elan Day Nursery enjoy a varied mix of activities and experiences, including creative play, music, yoga, sports and opportunities to explore different languages.
Outdoor experiences form a regular part of nursery life, with children able to explore our spacious garden, get involved with our growing area and take part in Forest School experiences led by our dedicated Forest School leader.
Regular outings also extend experiences beyond the nursery, giving children opportunities to explore the local Haywards Heath community and discover more about the people and places around them.
Our Elan Day Nursery in Haywards Heath has welcoming playrooms designed around children’s different ages and stages, including a dedicated baby room for our youngest children.
Children move through the nursery when they are developmentally and emotionally ready, rather than simply because they have reached a particular age, with practitioners supporting them as they become familiar with their new environment.
A cosy library provides a dedicated space for books, stories and quieter experiences, giving children opportunities to enjoy language, listening and sharing stories together.

Our spacious garden forms an important part of daily nursery life, with free-flow access providing regular opportunities for children to move between indoor and outdoor experiences.
A dedicated growing area gives children opportunities to get involved with plants and discover how the natural environment changes, while our purpose-built Forest School facilities provide further opportunities for nature-based exploration and hands-on experiences outdoors.
Quality of care at Elan Day Nursery starts with getting to know each child as an individual. Our team takes time to understand children’s routines, interests and individual needs, adapting their approach as children grow and develop.
Practitioners work closely with families throughout their child’s nursery experience, with regular communication providing opportunities to share information about activities, learning, development and everyday routines.
Our inclusive approach also considers children who may need additional support, with our qualified SENCo working closely with families and practitioners to understand individual needs and help ensure appropriate support is considered.
Our approach to Early Years education at Elan Day Nursery combines play-based learning with carefully planned experiences shaped around children’s individual interests, needs and stages of development.
Practitioners create opportunities for children to explore, communicate, move, investigate and make choices throughout the nursery day, adapting experiences as children grow and develop.
From creative activities and music to outdoor exploration, Forest School and our growing garden, children can experience learning in different ways and build on their existing knowledge and interests.
At Elan Day Nursery, children’s individual interests and stages of development play an important part in shaping their nursery experience.
Our approach gives children opportunities to explore, investigate and become involved in their learning through a combination of indoor and outdoor experiences, with free-flow access helping to make outdoor exploration a regular part of nursery life.
Nature and the environment are also important to our approach. Through our garden, growing area, Forest School experiences and Eco School activities, children have opportunities to discover the natural world and become involved in caring for their environment.
