Our location
Not far from Wimbledon Park, our lovely nursery is situated in a quiet residential street on Pelham Road just a short walk away from Wimbledon High Street. We are also close to Wimbledon Station and multiple bus stops which provides easy access for commuting families.
Dicky Birds is unique in that we have more than one nursery in each location. Discover our other Wimbledon settings in nearby Queens Road and Dundonald Road, along with those in Raynes Park, and Surbiton, where we provide the same warm, nurturing environment and exceptional care for your child.

Our Curriculum
Our unique approach to Early Years is centred around the child and has been carefully designed to ignite curiosity, build self-esteem and lay the strongest possible foundation for your child’s future. Beginning in our cosy Baby Room, the focus is on building safe, secure attachments in a environment where our littlest learners feel happy, comfortable and can begin to explore the world around them. As your child grows through the nursery, our bespoke education programmes inspire them to become strong communicators, engaged learners, critical thinkers and confident, independent individuals.
Our Team
The staff at our Pelham Road nursery are a dedicated and passionate team who are committed to helping every child flourish and thrive. They are enthusiastic and forward-thinking in regards to their Early Years practice and we offer a range of professional development programs to ensure this is continuously evolving. We also have a trained SENCo onsite to offer specialised support to children with additional needs. Our team take great pride in having achieved Eco-Schools Green Flag status, reflecting their dedication to sustainability and teaching children the importance of protecting our planet.
Parent partnerships
Creating strong and supportive partnerships with our parents is incredibly important to us. We hold regular family events which give you a chance to enjoy quality time with your child, get to know other families, see all the amazing things which happen one week to the next, and connect with our friendly team of educators. We use the Famly app to share daily updates, progress reports and insights into your child’s daily routine, ensuring you have all the information you need to stay involved in nursery life.
Our Facilities
Our vibrant rooms have been designed with great care to provide a warm, engaging and home-from-home environment. They are filled with the highest quality resources and equipment which cater to cognitive, physical, personal and emotional development. We have a beautiful outside space which includes an outdoor reading area, large sand pit and a creative area where children can paint, construct items and enjoy getting messy!
Activities
Our exciting activities are tailored to support each age and stage of development, from young babies and toddlers to our preschool children. Our Forest School sessions takes learning out of the classroom and immerses children in nature, helping them to live in the moment and learn valuable skills like teamwork and problem solving. Our PE sessions promote physical health and coordination, with fun and energetic activities with friends to help children reach their full potential.
Community Outings
Children enjoy a variety of community outings, including visits to Wimbledon Common, local libraries and farms. Attending these trips allows children to connect with and explore their local area, providing an opportunity for interactive hands-on learning experiences.
