Team

Our experienced and highly-qualified team at Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool in Whiteley, Hampshire, is passionate, caring, and dedicated to providing exceptional care. Many of our staff have been with us for years, offering stability and consistency to the children. We have Level 3 qualified SENCo members and staff with Early Years qualifications, ensuring expert support for every child. Our team is culturally diverse, bringing a variety of languages and backgrounds, enriching the children’s learning experiences and promoting an appreciation for different cultures.

Parent Partnership

The team at Kiddi Caru day nursery in Whiteley. Hampshire, believes it is a great privilege to be chosen and trusted by our families to look after their child and to become a partner in their learning journey. We keep parents up to date using our nursery app where we share photos, care routines and progress. 

Families are invited to get involved in Stay and Play sessions, Open Days, Summer Fun Day and Winter Wonderland. These events allow families to meet other families and form connections in the Kiddi Caru nursery community. Twice a year we host a parents evening and an additional one for School Leavers to ensure they are well equipped and ready, if not, we work with parents to aim for readiness. We have also invited parents for an afternoon tea party for special occasions.

We also have a lending library to further support parent partnership. We work with families to assist them with any changes they are going through as a family or anything new they would like to implement, such as toilet training. We value open discussions with families to help them reach their milestones.

Facilities

We offer a spacious, engaging setting with 8 well-designed rooms that allow for flexibility and movement. Our caring, stimulating environment is filled with natural light and creates a welcoming atmosphere where children feel at home. We provide free-flow access to the garden, allowing children to explore and play outdoors whenever they choose.

Our reception area offers a calming space where families can relax together, while our mindfulness area encourages children to express their inner selves. The Preschool Council plays an important role in helping us listen to the voices and ideas of our children, promoting British values and empowering them to share their aspirations.

Playrooms

Our playrooms follow a sea animal theme to represent each age group and playroom. The ages given are guidelines, we are child-led and will transition them based on development and readiness.

Clam – Our babies are located downstairs with direct access to the garden. They love using our state of the art sensory room! First time parents love our cosy baby room and that it has been designed to provide a home-from-home feel, ensuring comfort, security, and plenty of opportunities for early learning and development.

Crab, Starfish & Seahorse – Our three playrooms aimed at our youngest toddlers is located downstairs with direct free flow access to the garden.

Octopus & Seal – Our older toddlers playrooms are located upstairs with easy access to the garden.

Dolphin & Whale – The preschool children are upstairs over two rooms and also have easy, free flow access to the garden.

Garden

We have a large garden with a mud kitchen, a woodland area to explore, and a lot of different cosy areas that the team adapts depending on children’s interests – including a pergola. Children are encouraged to explore and enjoy active play as it builds their confidence.

We have a growing garden that children get involved with as part of our Sow and Grow and Make and Bake educational programmes. We do this to teach children the importance of sustainability and healthy eating.

Activities

We offer a variety of enriching activities, including Boogie Mites music sessions, sports, and yoga, language groups, and helicopter stories to support children’s development.

As an Eco School, we promote environmental awareness, and our Preschool Council encourages leadership skills.

Children also enjoy tennis lessons with a professional coach and engage in loose parts play to spark imagination and problem-solving. These activities work together to build strong foundations for learning and personal growth.

Community Outings

We work with our local community in Gull Coppice cul de sac to ensure high-quality education and a diversity of exposure to various topics.

We recently began our journey with the charity called Embracing Age Hampshire to develop intergenerational relationships with the local residence through making cards and visiting Humble Heights Care Home.

We regularly embark on walks in our beautifully enriched natural surroundings, giving children the opportunity to connect with nature and explore the world around them.
