Kiddi Caru Torquay is a warm and welcoming day nursery and preschool, offering a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn, play and develop with confidence.

Set within one of the largest purpose-built nursery settings in the area, our spacious rooms and large garden create a stimulating environment for babies, toddlers and preschool age children to explore, discover and enjoy outdoor play.

Our dedicated team is committed to supporting every stage of a child’s development through hands-on learning, curiosity and discovery. With a strong focus on early education, we encourage children to imagine, build confidence and make good progress as they move through each developmental stage.

Our welcoming nursery and preschool is a cherished part of the community, providing high-quality childcare tailored to the needs of every family.

We are proud to hold an Eco-Schools accreditation with merit, reflecting our commitment to teaching children the importance of caring for the environment.

Our location

Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool is located on the Willows Retail Park in Torquay, near to Sainsbury’s and a five minute drive directly off the A380. We have allocated parking outside of our premises. We are a short 5 minute walk from the bus stops situated outside of the shops located in the Retail Park.

About our Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool in Torquay

Curriculum and early education

Our Curriculum is unique and tailored to each child, focusing on nurturing confident communicators, independent learners, and building meaningful friendships. Inspired by the Curiosity Approach, we create a calm, engaging environment filled with natural resources to spark curiosity, creativity, and independent thinking. Supporting each child’s holistic growth is at the heart of everything we do.

Team

Our dedicated team includes experienced, longstanding staff whose passion shapes every part of the nursery. With a qualified Level 3 SENCo and a strong focus on mentoring, training and continuous professional development, we are committed to maintaining high standards of care and education while supporting both children and team members to grow.

Parent partnership

Our nursery app keeps parents connected with their child’s learning journey, providing real-time updates, photos, and key milestones. We believe in strong parent partnerships and supporting learning beyond the nursery. To encourage this, we offer a lending library where children can borrow books to enjoy at home and home learning bags filled with activities and resources to reinforce skills and knowledge in a fun, hands-on way.

Playrooms

Our playrooms are an integral part of the nursery experience, thoughtfully arranged across the site to support every stage of development in a calm and safe environment. With care, peace and dedication, children move through Sandcastles, our cosy baby room, to Buckets and Spades and Seagulls for older babies and young toddlers, before progressing to Pebbles and Seashells, where curiosity and confidence continue to grow. Their journey leads to Lighthouse, our spacious preschool room, where we promote independence and school readiness, ensuring every child is supported to develop with confidence.

Garden and outdoor play

We have a large, secluded and private garden space. We have a dedicated baby garden as well as one just for under 2’s. We have a well-loved yurt which is used for lessons. There are mud kitchens throughout the garden. We have three allotments which the children help tend for and are a part of the process of growing fruit and vegetables from start to finish.

Activities

We host a variety of exciting activities to aid in each child’s development and learning! We offer Sing and Sign, Boogie Mites, Mini Mites, yoga, cooking, as well as incorporating our unique education programmes.
