Gina
Nursery Manager
Welcome to Kiddi Caru Nursery Rushden, a warm and nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. Families across Rushden and Northamptonshire choose our nursery for its calm atmosphere, caring staff, and commitment to providing quality childcare year‑round.
Our setting embraces the Hygge approach, creating a cosy, low‑lit environment that supports emotional well‑being and helps children enjoy quiet time, follow their own interests, and explore at a gentle pace. Whether indoors or outdoors, we focus on connection, comfort, and meaningful learning experiences.
Our location
Our amazing nursery is located in the heart of Rushden, just a short walk from the high street and a five‑minute drive from Rushden Lakes. With easy access to the A6, we are ideally placed for families commuting from nearby towns and villages, including Bedford and Northampton.
About Our Nursery
Curriculum
Our curriculum centres around the Hygge approach, encouraging children to learn at their own pace through heuristic play, hands‑on exploration, and activities that support curiosity and independence. We also follow our bespoke educational programmes. These experiences help children develop confidence, communication, physical skills, and a love of learning.

Our team
Our Rushden day nursery is home to a long‑standing, dedicated team, with many staff members having been with us for over 18 years. Their experience, warmth, and knowledge create a supportive atmosphere where children feel secure and understood. We have a qualified SENCo practitioner to support children with additional needs, and many staff come from teaching backgrounds, enabling us to offer a strong school readiness programme for families preparing for the next stage of education.
Parent partnerships
Families describe our nursery as an extension of their own family. We value open communication and strong relationships, keeping parents updated through our app with details about their child’s routine, activities, and development. We host monthly meetings, tea‑and‑cake sessions, and regular events for all family members. Our “Swap Section” encourages recycling of clothing, toys, and books, while spare meals are offered to families at the end of the day supporting both sustainability and community connection.
Playrooms
Our cosy, low-lit rooms and natural décor create a calm, homely environment where children feel relaxed, secure, and ready to explore. With soft lighting, natural resources, and plants throughout, each space offers rich learning opportunities tailored to children’s development. Our Olive and Hazel Rooms provides a nurturing environment for our babies, both with access to a garden. Juniper Room offers toddlers an engaging space that encourages independence and exploration, while Elm Room provides preschool children with a bright, stimulating environment, a wide range of activities, and daily outdoor play opportunities.
Garden
Our garden offers endless opportunities for outdoor play and exploration. As a part of their daily routine, children enjoy the hobbit house, a mud kitchen, herb garden, compost area and water play. Open spaces for climbing, running, and imaginative play. These experiences support physical development, nature connection, and independent learning.

Activities
Children enjoy a wide range of activities, including Boogie Mites, Sing and Sign, Forest School sessions, Nature walks and Creative exploration. These sessions support communication, movement, creativity, and emotional well‑being.
Community outings
We take weekly outings to local parks, the library, woodland areas, and Forest School sites. These experiences help children explore their community, build confidence, and enjoy hands‑on learning beyond the nursery.
