Curriculum

At our nursery, we believe in cultivating a life long love of learning in each and every child.

That’s why we follow the fundamentals of the Curiosity Approach, providing in the moment learning opportunities, stemming from the interests of the children.

We find this gives our children the opportunity to explore what they want to learn, developing a greater sense of self to help them prepare for school and beyond.

Team

We are proud to have a team that goes above and beyond for our children and their families. All members of staff have a unique set of qualifications to really bring something new to the team

We have staff members who hold specialised qualifications, including a SENCo team and Autism Awareness, to provide additional support for children with special needs. All our staff are paediatric first aid trained too!

Parent Partnerships

Our nursery app offers valuable insights into your child’s daily activities, care, and progress, keeping you connected and informed throughout their learning journey.

We provide take-home activities for our families to help continue each child’s learning at home, we also have a lending library and provide regular support and advice on challenges and topics families might be facing.

We hold regular events for each family member to get more involved in nursery life! These range from stay and play sessions, fun days, mother’s day breakfasts, father’s day tea, grandparents day, coffee mornings and more.

We find that this is a wonderful way to build strong bonds with our families and create a sense of community within our nursery.

Facilities

Playrooms

Our playrooms cater to all forms of childcare at our nursery! We have eight playrooms that all follow a natural and curious environment.

Our Water Vole Room is for baby age children, our Kingfisher and Otter Rooms is for our younger toddlers and our Tugboat and Moorhen Rooms are for our older toddlers.

We also have a sensory room on-site and a office located by the main entrance so you can always reach a member of staff no matter what you need.

Garden

Along side our playrooms, we have a beautiful open plan garden accessible to all ages with a separate area for our babies and younger toddlers.

Our garden includes a mud kitchen, vegetable patch, den making area, mini beast area, sand and water play, and a large space where children can explore, run, jump, climb and manage risks.

Our two pet rabbits, who live in the garden, are loved by all the children! They provide a wonderful opportunity for the children to learn about caring for animals and taking on small responsibilities in a fun and nurturing environment.

Activities

At Kiddi Caru, we have a wide and varied range of activities to suit all ages! A few of our little ones favourites included Boogie Mites, Sing & Sign, Move & Groove, Innovate & Investigate, yoga and loose parts play.

Our children particularly love our Make & Bake activity as they can use the ingredients they have grown themselves from the vegetable garden, learning the plant to plate process.

Community Outings

At our nursery, we understand how important it is for young children to get out into the local community. That’s why we go on local walks to the nearby woodland and parks.
