About our nursery
Our curriculum
Our nursery uses a holistic learning approach, meaning that we consider all areas of a child’s development, from their emotional and cognitive development, all the way to their physical and social development.
Following the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework with the addition of bespoke Grandir UK educational programmes like Make & Bake, Move & Groove and Innovate & Investigate, children are provided with the enriching tools they need to enhance their development and have fun whilst doing it!
Our team
Our passionate and friendly team have a wealth of knowledge about what it takes to enhance children’s learning experience. Putting priority on children’s well-being and development, the team provides ongoing feedback, advice and support to families who need it too, from the moment they join the nursery to the moment they move onto their next chapter.

Parent partnerships
Keeping communication open with families is an element we prioritise at First Place Nursery Bushey. Families can receive daily updates on their child’s day via our Grandir UK app. This helps our team form strong bonds with the families who are trusting us with their children, and ultimately helps us provide the best possible early years education experience for their children.
Parent meetings, stay and plays, breakfast grab-and-go stations, personalised tours and special events for occasions like Mother’s Day are all things families can look forward to whilst being a part of First Place Nursery. We’re not just a childcare provider, we’re a close-knit community.
Our facilities
We have a range of stimulating facilities to enhance children’s early years experience. This includes a large hall (great for physical activities and games), a lovely garden (with free flow playroom access), and bright, well-equipped baby, toddler and preschool rooms for daily activities.
Our Garden
Our lovely, secure garden is great for outdoor exploration! Featuring a sand pit and climbing wall, children love moving their bodies and letting their imaginations run free with our brilliant outdoor resources.

Our activities
Our youngest children, toddlers and preschoolers, engage in a range of interactive and enriching activities throughout their nursery day that support holistic learning. Children enjoy creative art, messy play, creative play, sensory play, early language games and more! Additionally, indoor and outdoor areas are also taken advantage of to maximise the experience.
Community outings
We believe learning should extend outside of the nursery environment, so toddlers engage in regular outings in the local community guided by our nursery practitioners.
These outings might be trips to the local park, library visits or even visits to the local care home – all of these community-based experiences help children become well-rounded individuals.
