Kiddi Caru Day Nursery, Taunton

A calm, homely feel is what we have built inside our Taunton nursery, and it is what helps children feel safe, happy and settled. Our on-site chef prepares fresh, nutritionally balanced meals every day, all approved by a dietitian, and our sensory room gives children a quiet place to unwind when the day feels busy.

Our GrandirUK app keeps families connected with daily updates on nursery life, from meals and nappy changes to activities and milestones. Families are welcome in our dedicated parent area, with complimentary fruit, coffee and guides on key milestones, and we bring everyone together for seasonal events including our summer party, Christmas showcase and preschool graduation.

Sing and Sign builds communication and early literacy at Taunton, while Boogie Mites brings rhythm, movement and language development into the week. Make and Bake introduces healthy and cultural foods in a hands-on way, and yoga supports coordination and emotional balance. Children also head out to local parks, getting to know the community and the nature-rich surroundings on their doorstep.

Our Taunton nursery has eight bright, airy playrooms, each named after a local fruit and tailored to a particular stage of a child’s development.

• Peach Room: A cosy space for settling in, sensory play and early learning.
• Apple, Blackberry and Plum Rooms: Vibrant spaces supporting sensory exploration, physical development and communication skills.
• Greengage and Cherry Rooms: Rooms that encourage independence, emotional regulation and early literacy through letters and sounds.
• Strawberry and Damson Rooms: Our preschool rooms, focused on communication, problem-solving, language, literacy and school readiness.

Every room has been designed to inspire and engage, with high-quality resources chosen for their educational value and their longevity as tools for imaginative play.

Our dedicated sensory room is a favourite across the nursery. It has a ball pit, interchanging lights, an interactive bubble tube, an infinity tunnel, a sound interaction board and mirror balls, offering a calm space where children can relax and enjoy a tailored sensory experience.

Outdoor space

Children at our Taunton nursery enjoy three gardens, each designed to support a different part of their learning journey through fun activities, imaginative play and sensory exploration.

Our Forest School practitioner encourages children to explore the natural world outdoors, developing motor skills, social skills and physical confidence. From mud kitchens to growing vegetables, the gardens offer endless opportunities for discovery.

Care at Taunton means children progressing through their Early Years journey at their own pace, in a setting that is safe and genuinely stimulating. We take the time to understand what each child needs, so families can leave in the morning knowing their child is well looked after.

Our curriculum follows the Early Years Foundation Stage alongside our innovative education programmes: Make and Bake, Sow and Grow, Move and Groove, Innovate and Investigate, and Health and Self. Together they offer a well-rounded approach, tailored to each child’s individual needs and preparing them well for future learning.

We believe children should learn with their hands and their feet in the soil. Our Taunton nursery has three gardens and a Forest School practitioner, so growing vegetables, cooking in the mud kitchen and exploring the natural world are ordinary parts of the week here, not special occasions. Children build motor skills, friendships and confidence outdoors in Somerset air.

With eight rooms in Taunton, siblings each get a space suited to their stage while sharing the same three gardens and sensory room. One journey to Blackbrook Business Park covers both children, and one team gets to know your whole family. When we have the places free, keeping a family in one nursery is what we aim for.

Our experienced early years practitioners at Kiddi Caru Taunton have real expertise in child development, and they keep growing through training and by mentoring apprentices. Claire, our Nursery Manager, works alongside a qualified SENCO, a Forest School leader and a dedicated on-site chef who prepares nutritious meals daily.
