Anerley Day Nursery is a warm and welcoming place where children can feel at home, make friends and enjoy learning through play. From exploring the outdoors and discovering nature to learning new languages and celebrating different cultures, there’s always something to spark children’s curiosity.
Based in Schoolkeepers House, next to Anerley Town Hall and Business Centre, we’re proud to be a multicultural nursery where every child and family is welcomed. We’re open Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 6:30pm, with off-street parking, and Anerley Train Station is directly opposite.
Our in-house chef prepares balanced meals every day, promoting healthy eating habits and giving children the nourishment they need to grow. Mealtimes are part of learning here too, as our chef involves children in cooking activities and teaches them seasonal recipes, which builds a genuine enjoyment of food rather than just good habits.
We place high value on close relationships with our families. The GrandirUK app gives parents daily updates, photos and an easy way to get in touch, so they stay involved in their child’s learning journey. We also host coffee mornings where families get to know one another, and regular stay and play sessions where you can take part in activities with your child.
From cooking delicious meals with our in-house chef and carrying out exciting science and technology experiments, to getting stuck into gardening and enjoying lively Boogie Mites sessions, there’s always something new for children to discover.
Our location close to the town centre means children get to enjoy regular community outings too, most often to the nearby park. These trips give children the chance to explore their surroundings and build on what they’re learning at nursery.
Anerley Day Nursery has four spacious playrooms, recently refurbished with beautifully designed spaces and high-quality resources. Each room is built around a different stage of development.
Children move up to the next room as they are ready for it, so the step from Adventurers to Explorers or from Explorers to Leaders feels like a natural progression rather than a change imposed on them.
Outdoor space
Our courtyard garden is divided into three sections, each with its own canopy and shelter, which means children can be outside comfortably throughout the year rather than only on dry days.
Splitting the courtyard into three also gives different age groups their own space, so babies get somewhere calm while older children have room for more energetic play. The garden is used for planting and growing as well as free play.
Good childcare depends on relationships between adults as much as with children. At Anerley Day Nursery we build close relationships with families and work together so that what happens at nursery and what happens at home stays aligned, and every child is cared for by people who know their story.
Our curriculum at Anerley is inspired by the Curiosity Approach, with our bespoke education programmes woven in: Health & Self, Make & Bake, Innovate & Investigate, Move & Groove, and Sow & Grow. They give learning a fun, engaging structure while keeping curiosity and exploration at the centre.
We believe children learn best when they are the ones asking the questions. Anerley follows the Curiosity Approach, so our rooms are filled with real, open-ended resources rather than answers, and children are trusted to investigate. Being a multicultural nursery adds to that curiosity, as children grow up hearing different languages and celebrating different traditions.
With Anerley Train Station across the road, one stop at Schoolkeepers House is far easier than two. Our four playrooms sit within a single site, so a baby in Nurturers and an older sibling in Leaders share the same courtyard garden and the same familiar team. If you’re looking for a place for siblings, we’ll always do our best to accommodate both children, subject to availability.
Our longstanding team of passionate colleagues give Anerley its steadiness, and Nursery Manager Delilah has this group of familiar faces behind her. They are united in supporting each child’s development day by day, and SEND provision here is overseen by a qualified SENCo so no child is left without the help they need.
