Welcome to Pippa’s House Day Nursery Guildford at Wharf House on Wharf Road, within walking distance of the town centre, bus station and train station. We are open Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 6:30pm.
For commuting families, we are a five-minute drive from the A3 and have on-site parking for convenient drop-offs and pick-ups. Inside, Amelia and the team create a welcoming and sociable environment where children have plenty of opportunities to play, explore and spend time together.
Spending time outdoors is an important part of nursery life. Our two gardens give children plenty of opportunities to move, play and enjoy the fresh air throughout the year. Indoors, cosy reading areas with comfortable seating and a selection of books provide spaces for quieter moments, while our sensory room offers another dedicated space where children can step away from busier activities and enjoy a change of pace.
Keeping families involved in nursery life is important to us. Regular events, including afternoon tea parties and picnics in the park, create opportunities for families to spend time together and be part of the nursery community.
Through the GrandirUK App, families can receive photos and updates about their child’s experiences and progress, helping them stay connected with nursery life. Our team also welcome families’ thoughts, questions and concerns, keeping communication open throughout their child’s time with us.
Throughout the week, children enjoy a varied mix of activities shaped around their interests and stages of development. Creative messy play, sensory experiences and hands-on activities give children opportunities to explore early maths and science through play.
Music and movement, Spanish lessons and our loose parts classroom offer even more ways to explore and learn, while regular outings into the local Guildford area extend these experiences beyond the nursery and help children become more familiar with their community.
Our Guildford nursery has four bright, spacious rooms, each designed around a particular age and stage of development. The layout gives our youngest children a quieter area of the nursery, while older children have more space to explore as their interests and independence grow.
Having two toddler rooms means children can progress through the nursery in smaller steps, with our team considering each child’s developmental and emotional readiness before supporting their move into the next room.
Our splat room provides a dedicated space for painting and messy play, while the loose parts classroom offers open-ended materials for children to explore, combine, build and problem-solve with. Small classroom groups throughout the nursery help create a more personal environment where our team can get to know children individually.
Outdoor space
Our Guildford nursery has two spacious gardens, giving children plenty of opportunities to spend time outdoors throughout the year. With room to run, jump, play games and explore with others, the gardens provide space for both active play and outdoor learning.
Our smaller courtyard offers another area to explore, with bikes, blocks, spades and buckets providing different ways to move, create and play. Outdoor experiences are an important part of nursery life, extending children’s opportunities to play and learn beyond the playrooms.
Our approach to care starts with strong, consistent relationships. Small classroom groups give our team more opportunities to get to know each child, understand their individual needs and provide personalised attention throughout the day.
By building familiar relationships and taking time to understand each child, our team can support them as they settle in at their own pace, grow in confidence and become comfortable exploring the nursery environment.
Our curriculum follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), with a varied mix of experiences designed to support children’s learning and development across all areas.
Through play, exploration and purposeful experiences, children have opportunities to follow their curiosity while developing their communication, independence and other early skills that help prepare them for school.
Curiosity is an important part of how children learn. At our Guildford nursery, close to the town centre, children have opportunities to ask questions, follow their interests and discover more about the world around them.
With two gardens to explore and regular opportunities to get out into the local community, learning can extend beyond the playroom. These varied experiences encourage children to investigate, make choices and develop their growing independence and communication skills.
For families with more than one child, having siblings at our Guildford nursery means one drop-off and pick-up, with on-site parking at Wharf House helping to make the daily routine simpler.
Our four rooms are close together and both gardens are shared, giving brothers and sisters opportunities to see each other during the nursery day while still enjoying spaces and experiences suited to their own age and stage.
Sibling places are subject to availability, but where we have space in the appropriate room, we will always look at the options for welcoming brothers and sisters together.
Led by Nursery Manager Georgia, our experienced team at Pippa’s House Guildford take time to build strong relationships with each child. Through our key person approach, children have a familiar team member who gets to know their personality, individual needs and what helps them feel comfortable at nursery.
Our in-house nursery chef prepares fresh, nutritious meals and snacks each day, making mealtimes another thoughtfully considered part of children’s nursery experience.
