Welcome to Kiddi Caru Day Nursery, Daventry set within a Grade II listed building in the grounds of NHS Danetre Hospital on London Road. We welcome children from birth to 5 years and are open Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm.
With Daventry town centre around a ten-minute walk away and convenient access to the M1 and A5, the nursery is well placed for families living or working in Daventry and the surrounding area.
Inside, the character of our listed building is complemented by an inviting entrance and open nursery spaces, creating a warm and welcoming environment for children and their families.
Children’s wellbeing is considered throughout the nursery day at Daventry. Healthy, varied meals and snacks are included within our fees, with options designed around the different ages and dietary needs of the children in our care.
Regular time in our refurbished garden also brings fresh air, movement and outdoor exploration into the nursery day, giving children opportunities for both active play and discovering the natural world around them.
Families can stay connected with nursery life through the GrandirUK App, with updates including meals, snacks, naps, activities, milestones and photos. Our lending library also gives families the opportunity to borrow books to share together at home.
Open communication is an important part of our relationship with families, and our open-door approach means parents and carers are encouraged to speak directly with the team whenever they have a question or something they would like to discuss.
Children at Kiddi Caru Daventry enjoy a varied mix of experiences, including daily Boogie Mites sessions, signing to support early communication and sensory play with materials such as water and sand, both indoors and outdoors.
Our older children also take part in intergenerational visits to a local care home, where they spend time with residents through shared experiences including music, stories, puzzles, singing and dancing. These visits give children opportunities to meet and interact with different generations while building connections within their local community.
Our Daventry nursery is set within a beautiful Grade II listed building, with an inviting entrance and open, well-resourced playrooms. Each room is thoughtfully designed around the ages and stages of the children using it, with appropriate resources and equipment to support their play, exploration and learning.
Direct garden access from Wise Owls helps make outdoor experiences a natural part of the preschool day, giving children regular opportunities to explore, make choices and take their learning beyond the playroom.
Outdoor space
Our recently refurbished garden is enclosed and equipped with resources for different ages and stages. Children have plenty of opportunities for active outdoor play, including running, jumping, climbing and exploring throughout the year.
Through our Sow & Grow programme, children can experience different stages of growing fruit and vegetables, from planting seeds and caring for plants through to harvesting produce. What they grow can also become part of our Make & Bake activities — with home-grown carrots, for example, being used to make carrot cake.
These hands-on experiences give children opportunities to work together, explore where food comes from and become involved in caring for their nursery environment.
Quality of care at Daventry starts with open communication and getting to know each child and their family as individuals.
Our open-door approach encourages families to speak to the team, ask questions or raise anything they would like to discuss. With many long-standing practitioners at the nursery, families also benefit from continuity and familiar faces throughout their child’s nursery experience.
This consistency helps our team build a detailed understanding of each child’s routines, interests and individual needs, supporting close communication between nursery and home.
Our curriculum combines the Curiosity Approach with Hygge-inspired principles, creating opportunities for children to follow their interests, explore ideas and become actively involved in their learning.
Our approach is informed by Birth to 5 Matters, while preschool children also enjoy GrandirUK education programmes including Innovate & Investigate, Sow & Grow and Make & Bake. Through these varied experiences, children have opportunities to investigate, create, solve problems and develop skills that support their transition to school.
At Daventry, our Grade II listed building provides a characterful setting for a calm and considered approach to Early Years learning.
Inspired by the Curiosity Approach and Hygge principles, our rooms are thoughtfully arranged to give children time and space to explore, notice the details around them and become absorbed in their play.
Children are encouraged to follow their interests and investigate their own ideas, with practitioners nearby to observe, support and introduce new opportunities that extend their learning.
For families with more than one child, having siblings at our Daventry nursery means one drop-off and pick-up, while each child can enjoy the room, experiences and friendships suited to their own age and stage.
A baby in Hedgehogs and an older sibling in Wise Owls may spend their days in different rooms, but they remain part of the same nursery community, with opportunities to see each other and share parts of nursery life.
Sibling places are subject to availability, but where we have space in the appropriate room, we will always look at the options for welcoming brothers and sisters together.
Led by Nursery Manager Angeline, our Daventry team brings a wealth of Early Years knowledge and experience to the nursery, with many colleagues having been part of the team for more than 14 years.
Across the team, practitioners bring experience in areas including speech and language, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and children’s wellbeing. Our designated SENCo works closely with families and practitioners to help ensure individual needs are understood and appropriately supported.
The experience of our long-standing practitioners also supports the development of newer colleagues, with knowledge and good practice shared across the team as they continue to learn and develop in their roles.
