Penge East Day Nursery and Preschool

Curriculum

At our Penge East Day Nursery, we adopt the Learn Through Play Approach based on the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. We provide all our children an exciting journey where we base our activities and learning opportunities on the child’s current interest and base their next steps on their individual needs. We find this approach helps prepare all of our children not just for primary school, but for life!

Team

Our staff members come from a variety of cultural backgrounds, bringing great diversity to the team and a greater depth of learning to the children within our care.

Our nursery is proud to have a highly qualified and dedicated team, with staff continuously advancing their skills and knowledge in Early Years education. We also have experienced SENCo practitioners specialising in supporting children with additional needs, ensuring every child receives the care and guidance they deserve.

We are lucky to have a talented, extremely happy and qualified staff team that supports one another and strives for greatness each and every day.

Parent Partnership

We strive for the very best parent partnerships to create an inclusive nursery community! Using our nursery app, we keep our families informed on what their child is getting up to, what meals they’ve had and photos of activities they’ve enjoyed throughout the day.

Facilities

Playrooms

We have four nursery rooms in total, our baby room, toddler room, nursery room and preschool room. Each of our playrooms host age-appropriate activities and children transition into their next room when they are physically, emotionally and mentally ready for this change.

We have a quiet area in the preschool room for story time, dedicated circle time and Italian classes. Our most fun feature of our nursery is our indoor slide in our conservatory which all children love to use!

Garden

Our children love playing in our nursery garden! We have a decent sized space that has a climbing apparatus, a quiet area for children to have some down time, a mud kitchen, scooters and bikes for children to use and an art wall.

We also have a viewing platform where the children watch the trains pull in and set off from the near by train station, which they love!

Activities

At our setting we hold many activities for all our children. All activities are age-appropriate and tailored to each child’s interest. A few favourites is our Boogie Mites sessions and Italian classes held by staff who are from Italy!

Community Outings

At Penge East, we believe that regular outings does wonders for all children. Therefore, we make it a priority to take trips into the local community as often as we can! These visits include visiting the trains at Penge East station, the local park, Library, music shop and charity shop.
