Nursery Manager
Our nursery provides a home-from-home setting for children aged three months to preschool years. Thanks to our diverse and talented team, and families, we work together as a close community, ensuring that each and every child receives the best Early Years education and care.
We provide a nurturing and stimulating environment rich with exciting learning opportunities for the children in our care. Our dedicated team is passionate about creating a safe, inspiring space where children can thrive, explore, and develop at their own pace.
Our location
Our nursery can be found right in the heart of Penge East, London, walking distance to several places within the local community such as the park, library and charity shop. We are only a two minute walk from Penge East train station, a five minutes walk from Sydenham station and have loads of bus routes near our nursery, making us a great choice for commuting families in the neighbourhood.
About Our Penge East Day Nursery
Curriculum
At our Penge East Day Nursery, we adopt the Learn Through Play Approach based on the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. We provide all our children an exciting journey where we base our activities and learning opportunities on the child’s current interest and base their next steps on their individual needs. We find this approach helps prepare all of our children not just for primary school, but for life!
Team
Our diverse and highly qualified team is passionate about providing exceptional care and learning opportunities for every child. Staff continuously develop their expertise in Early Years education, including experienced SENCo practitioners who support children with additional needs. Working together in a positive and supportive environment, our dedicated team strives for excellence every day.
Parent Partnership
We strive for the very best parent partnerships to create an inclusive nursery community! Using our nursery app, we keep our families informed on what their child is getting up to, what meals they’ve had and photos of activities they’ve enjoyed throughout the day.
Playrooms
We have four nursery rooms in total, our baby room, toddler room, nursery room and preschool room. Each of our playrooms host age-appropriate activities and children transition into their next room when they are physically, emotionally and mentally ready for this change. We have a quiet area in the preschool room for story time, dedicated circle time and Italian classes. Our most fun feature of our nursery is our indoor slide in our conservatory which all children love to use!
Garden
Our children love playing in our nursery garden! We have a decent sized space that has a climbing apparatus, a quiet area for children to have some down time, a mud kitchen, scooters and bikes for children to use and an art wall. We also have a viewing platform where the children watch the trains pull in and set off from the near by train station, which they love!
Activities
At our setting we hold many activities for all our children. All activities are age-appropriate and tailored to each child’s interest. A few favourites is our Boogie Mites sessions and Italian classes held by staff who are from Italy!
Community Outings
At Penge East, we believe that regular outings does wonders for all children. Therefore, we make it a priority to take trips into the local community as often as we can! These visits include visiting the trains at Penge East station, the local park, Library, music shop and charity shop.
