Our Services
Outdoor Play and Exploration
The children have access to fresh air and opportunities to explore and engage in the natural world daily through our free flow garden. As well as daily outings into the local area. Our children enjoy regular outings within the local community, discovering their neighbourhood and learning about their surroundings. These include trips to the park, grocery store to buy items for cookery activities, and the local train station, offering hands-on learning experiences and opportunities to explore the world around them.
Extracurricular Activities
Regular PE sessions keep our older children active and promote physical health and coordination through a range of fun and dynamic exercises. Our staff are trained to perform Boogie Mites sessions to all ages, which is an interactive music activity that encourages active listening and builds strong cognitive abilities for learning. These sessions are delivered daily to maximise the impact.
Educational Programmes
We offer innovative and engaging educational programmes that foster and nurture young people, such as Move and Groove, Make and Bake, Innovate and Investigate, Health and Self, and Sow and Grow. Forest School Sessions
Our Forest School sessions inspire children to explore and learn in a natural environment, sparking their sense of adventure and exploration. These sessions are held at Walton Firs, Surrey, where we have an allocated space developed for our children to learn through hands-on experiences. They engage in outdoor activities such as den building, nature walks, and exploring wildlife, all while enhancing important skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, and resilience.
On-Site Chef
Our dedicated on-site chef prepares fresh meals daily, with menus thoughtfully designed to provide children with balanced, nutritious options that support their growth and development.

Dicky Birds is conveniently located at 62 Claremont Road, in a beautifully renovated barn tucked behind a row of Georgian houses and just a short walk from Claremont Gardens, providing convenient childcare solutions for local families.
Surbiton Station is just a 5-minute walk away, allowing parents to travel to work with ease while ensuring their children are in a safe and nurturing environment.
We have three day nurseries in the Surbiton area, all within easy reach of Surbiton train station, local bus routes, and the high street, making drop-offs and pick-ups seamless for busy parents. Dicky Birds provides high-quality childcare and early years education.
All of our Dicky Birds day nurseries; Surbiton, Wimbledon and Raynes Park are designed to create a warm, nurturing environment where children can explore, learn, and thrive.

Our Facilities
We have created a warm and inviting environments for our children and families at Dicky Birds Claremont Road. Our Classes
Ducklings: Our baby room features areas with age-appropriate resources for the children to actively explore and learn. We have created a cosy and safe space for our youngest learners to grow and thrive. Adjoining the room, there is a separate sleep area, where the children can rest and sleep. This room has free flow access straight into the garden for an easy transition to the outside.
Swans: This room caters for our young toddlers, where the environment lends to inspire and provoke curiosity with engaging activities and accessible resources that promote early independence, sparks their imaginations and gives them the lifelong skills to listen, question and confidently try new things.
Emus: The children in our Emus room, are continuing to develop their independence skills and beginning to learn lifelong skills for learning through open ended questioning and challenging ideas and experiences. This room ensures your child is readily prepared for the transition to school by the end of their journey with us.
Our children transition between classes based on their ability rather than their age, ensuring that each child receives the support and challenges they need to thrive.
Our Outdoor Space
Our outdoor garden is a vibrant and accessible space for all children, including our babies, providing a breath of fresh air and endless learning opportunities in nature. This outdoor space allows children to enjoy the great outdoors and engage in fun activities.
Equipped with canopies, our garden ensures that children can explore and play even during heavy rain.
Here, they can participate in PE sessions, explore the mud kitchen, climb on the wooden climbing frame, and navigate the wooden tunnel and obstacle course.
Our garden also features a cosy reading area, sand and water play, along with large scale mark making opportunities on our chalkboards. At the front of garden the nursery, children have the chance to grow their own vegetables and flowers, fostering a sense of responsibility and care for the environment.

I am a dedicated, resourceful and goal-driven educator with a solid commitment to the areas of learning and development. My special field of expertise is child development. My understanding of psychology and the complexity of emotions allows me to work in close partnership with parents to implement and manage effective parent liaison programmes. I have received numerous certifications and awards in the fields of learning and development, such as the Inspirational and Compassionate Performer Award. I teach meditation for children, young adults and parents. By way of creative playful engagement, I help children and youth to become aware of their five senses and emotions. This awareness then allows the natural compassion and joy innate in children to flourish and blossom.
