Curriculum

Our Curriculum at Kiddi Caru Day Nursery is designed to nurture confident communicators, encourage independence in self-care, and help children build secure relationships while expressing their own feelings.

We follow the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) and Birth to 5 Matters as key frameworks, ensuring a holistic approach to early childhood development. Additionally, we proudly embrace our unique education programmes, which includes Pathway to the Future and Foundations for the Future, setting the stage for children’s lifelong learning and success.

Team

At the heart of our nursery is a warm and loving environment, where all our staff are dedicated to helping children thrive. Many of our team have been with us for over 10 years, and our Manager has been a part of our nursery family for the past 20 years!

With a close-knit team, including apprentices and staff with Level 6 qualifications, we’re passionate about preparing each child for their unique educational journey by nurturing their individual interests.

Our SEND Coordinators, ensure that every child gets the care and support they need to grow and succeed.

Parent Partnership

What makes our nursery truly unique is the wonderful bond we share with our families. We offer story sacks and home learning bags in our main lobby, providing exciting resources for families and children to borrow. Our small library section is also available for families to take home books and share in the joy of reading together.

Our nursery app keeps parents updated on their children’s daily experiences, while our long-standing staff and key person system provide a comforting consistency. This secure relationship between our children, staff, and families creates a relaxed environment, allowing families to feel confident leaving their child in our care.

We value open communication and connection, hosting two parents’ evenings each year to discuss progress and share insights. We hold a celebratory party once a year, whether it’s a garden party, Christmas event, or special celebration – this year we celebrated our 20th Anniversary!

Facilities

All of our rooms are bright, airy, and well-equipped, providing a variety of engaging daily activities to inspire and support children’s development. Our main office is conveniently located just off the front lobby, making it easily accessible for families. On the ground floor, we have a sensory room designed for small group sessions of up to six children, offering a calm space for exploration.

Playrooms

At our nursery, we believe that every child is unique, which is why we focus on their readiness rather than age when transitioning between rooms.

Our Willow Room is designed for our babies, providing a nurturing space for their first experiences. As children grow, they transition to our Cedar, Birch, and Beech Rooms, tailored for young toddlers, where they can explore and develop their skills. For our older toddlers, we offer the Oak and Elm Rooms, which encourage independence and creativity. Finally, our Preschool Room will help prepare our older children for their next steps in their education journey as they get ready for school.

This thoughtful approach ensures that each child flourishes in a setting that meets their individual needs!

Outdoor Space

Our garden offers a spacious and safe outdoor area designed for exploration and fun! This includes grassy patches for running and playing, soft-matted zones for safe play, and a concrete playground area for various activities. We also have sheltered spots for those sunny or drizzly days, ensuring children can enjoy the outdoors year-round.

Excitingly, we are in the process of developing an allotment and adding a mud kitchen, along with new large wooden play equipment. This outdoor space is perfect for encouraging imaginative play and nurturing a love for nature in our children.

Activities

At Kiddi Caru Day Nursery in Plymouth, the child is at the centre of everything we do. We love incorporating exciting activities into their daily schedule to enhance their learning journey and enrich their lives.

Our engaging programs, including Boogie Mites, Sing & Sign, Yoga, and French, are designed to support children’s development at every age. Each morning, our children enjoy activities that carry them forward on their educational journey, helping them develop vital motor skills while preparing them for school.

We believe that these enriching experiences are essential for nurturing confident and curious pre school children in our childcare setting.
