Curriculum

Our curriculum is entirely child-centred, designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and independent learning. We follow the Curiosity Approach, creating an engaging environment that encourages exploration, critical thinking, and a love for learning.

Our carefully crafted curriculum is based on our Foundations to the Future programme which provides stimulating activities to support your child’s growth and development at every stage.

Our team nurtures, empowers, inspires and encourages children to build the language, confidence and physical skills they need to flourish at nursery. This builds a strong foundation for their future and ensures, when the time comes, that they are ready to take their next step in education, whether that is from the baby room to the toddler room or from preschool to primary school, our colleagues support them, and you, at every step.

Team

Our nursery is staffed by a highly trained, long-serving and caring team who are focused on creating a safe environment with the best learning opportunities for your child.

Our experienced team of friendly staff have a kind and caring nature meaning they naturally provide loving and supportive childcare. All of our staff are first aid trained to ensure we have a safe and nurturing nursery.

Parent Partnership

We use our nursery app to maintain good communication with our families. This user-friendly platform keeps you connected with your child’s daily activities, meals, and milestones, offering easy access to photos and notes from our caring team. The app also facilitates seamless communication for questions or feedback and a place to find important announcements and reminders about special events.

We also have a family area in our reception with a lending library and take-home bags for families to enjoy reading and learning together.

We also offer a stay and play for parents who wish to spend time with their child in our nursery, as well as special celebrations such as a mothers day afternoon tea and pancake day.

Facilities

Our lovely day nursery on Abington Grove, Northampton is spread over three welcoming floors and was recently refurbished to provide brighter and fresher classrooms that are modern and well-resourced with easy access to our wonderful outdoor classroom.

We have created the perfect environment for babies through to preschool children to enjoy a delightful mix of indoor and outdoor learning opportunities!

Playrooms

Each room has tailored activities that includes creative play, construction, small world, a home corner, reading corner and loose toys. These different opportunities allow our children to appeal to their imagination every day.

Our two baby rooms, called Dinky Ducklings and Happy Hedgehogs, provides babies with cosy and nurturing spaces that encourage sensory exploration in a home-from-home environment.

Our toddler and preschool rooms are equipped with high-quality resources designed to support children’s growth and development, encouraging curiosity, independence, and a love for learning.

All our rooms are inclusive, and our qualified SENCo staff provide additional care and tailored support to ensure children with additional needs thrive in our nurturing environment.

We provide sessional day care with spacious and well equipped playrooms designed to meet the individual learning and caring needs of each age and stage of development and learning.

Outdoor Space

We have a wonderful outdoor classroom, that we use all year, to bring the world of play and learning to life.

Toddlers and pre-schoolers enjoy this calming atmosphere, where they can learn about nature and the environment in our vegetable plot and growing garden.

Planned activities, include planting seeds which the children learn to take care of and they see the different phases of the plant growing until they can pick the fruit or vegetable and eat it.

In our sand pit, children can focus on imaginative play to learn, explore and discover. We have bikes and scooters that encourage physical activity and wellbeing, and we have a reading nook for quieter times.

Our busy children use their energy for fun play time with ample space to burn energy during outdoor play.

Activities

We offer a range of fun and engaging activities to support children’s learning and to prepare them for when they start school.

Babies and children enjoy the sensory experience of painting during creative play, mixing ingredients during Make and Bake sessions, and learning communication and language skills during sing and sign sessions.

Boogie Mites gets your child moving and grooving in a fun way that encourages gross and fine motor skills, supporting their development, and ensuring your child flourishes at nursery and supports their development while having lots of fun.

Arts and craft activities, hands on play, and reading books take place throughout the day and ensure your child is happy and well looked after.

Community Outings

We take our children on regular outings to the local parks where they have the chance to observe and engage with nature.

As part of our intergenerational project we enjoy regular outings to Crescent House, a local care home where the children benefit from being around the older generation and the older residents enjoy being around the children.
