Curriculum

We recognise that children are powerful learners from birth and that they not only learn through play, but that play is so essential for a child’s well-being and development. We follow a blend of Hygge and Curiosity Approaches in our curriculum, which emphasises the importance of calm and cosy environments where children can freely explore their interests.

Kiddi Caru also follows core educational programmes such as Sow and Grow, Make and Bake, Health and Self, Innovate and Investigate, and Move and Grove.

Team

We are grateful to have longstanding staff including our Nursery Manager who bring decades of experience to the team. They are highly qualified, passionate and engaged. Their dedication and love for their work is reflected in the wonderful relationships they form with each child and the quality of activities and play.

We have a qualified level 6 early years educator in our preschool room, as well as a qualified SENCo educator. Our staff are trained and experienced carers.

Parent Partnership

We take pride in our open and transparent communication with families, building strong relationships based on trust and collaboration- something our families truly value. We find all feedback helpful and encourage regular communication. We utilise our nursery app to keep parents informed and engaged with their child’s daily experiences, development, and important updates. In addition to the app, we also maintain open communication through face-to-face discussions and email as needed.

We also host a variety of events throughout the year. Including monthly Stay and Play sessions, Parents Evenings, Christmas fayres, and Open Days. We also have a lending library to encourage reading at home without the cost of having to buy a variety of books.

Facilities

Our newly refurbished facilities provide children with the environment they need for a proactive and fun learning experience.

Playrooms

We have a total of five newly decorated playrooms which include a large outdoor space for each. In these rooms children can explore their creativity and progress efficiently in their learning journey.

We follow each child’s lead and development, if we feel they are ready to move to the next room sooner, we will work with caregivers and discuss the appropriate time to transition. If we feel they need extra time in a room, we will discuss that with them too.

Bluebells: This is 1/2 spaces where our babies are situated. This includes access to their own garden area.

Daffodils: This large room is for our toddlers with free flow access to their own garden.

Poppies: This secondary toddler space is a large spacious room with free flow to the main garden.

Daisies: This bright and bold playroom caters for older toddlers.

Sunflowers: Our preschoolers room is for school leavers, situated on the first floor in a large open space.

Outdoor Space

Our nursery in Market Harborough has a large outdoor area that caters to all ages. It boasts a fixed climbing frame and slide, a mud kitchen, as well as a large sheltered sand area. Our preschoolers have an investigation garden to expand on the Curiosity Approach.

Activities

We implement various activities throughout children’s days. Some are part of our foundational educational programmes, others are extras that we believe are beneficial.

We do: Sing and Sign, Mini Mites, Boogie Mites, yoga, P.E. sessions, Make and Bake, and Sow and Grow. Music and dancing are essential for development and skill learning, and we want to incorporate physical activity in a fun and informative way to foster a culture and positive outlook on physical activity as important for overall well-being.

Community Outings

Due to the nursery’s location, it is not practical for our staff to safely transport children to Market Harborough town centre or other relevant areas.

Therefore, we bring the excitement and activities to us! For example, during Fire Safety Week, we invited our local fire department to our premises. We had great fun learning from the firemen and exploring the fire truck. For our health and self programme, we have invited nurses, doctors and dentists to chat about the importance of health and hygiene.
