We adapt a range of teaching methodologies to meet the individual needs of each child, rather than adhering to one specific theory, ensuring a well-rounded and personalised learning experience.

Team

At our Little Explorers school, many team members have been with us for over 10 years, creating a strong sense of continuity and familiarity. All staff are trained in first aid, further assuring families of our commitment to safety and well-being in our day nursery. Our team is dedicated to treating each child with kindness and respect, growing confidence and enhancing their individual ideas in a supportive setting.

Parent Partnerships

At our nursery, we know that strong partnerships with families are key to supporting each child’s growth and happiness. That’s why we use our nursery app to keep everyone in the loop, sharing updates and celebrating milestones together.

We love to host special events and sessions that celebrate various festivals, inviting families to join in the fun and create lasting memories with their children. These occasions provide wonderful opportunities to ensure families are included in nursery life and are spending time together which will enhance their overall early years experience.

Facilities

Our facilities have recently undergone a stunning refresh, enhancing the spaces where children learn and play. The entire nursery has been beautifully redecorated, featuring soft vinyl flooring throughout and off-white painted walls that create a bright, welcoming atmosphere in both our classrooms and communal areas. This fresh and modern look adds to the calm and nurturing environment we strive to provide for all our children.

Playrooms

Sweet Peas our baby and younger toddler room is divided into two sections, offering cosy spaces for rest and plenty of room for exploration and investigation for the more active children. A convenient nappy-changing area is located within the playroom for easy access.

Daisies and Preschool share a versatile, open-plan classroom on the ground floor, with designated areas for both adult-led and child-led activities. The space includes an open-plan bathroom and a nappy-changing facility to accommodate all children’s needs.

Outdoor Space

Our outdoor area features a blend of soft lazy lawn and grounded areas, providing ample opportunities for a variety of activities. We have a dedicated growing space that connects to our Sow and Grow programme, typically maintained by our preschool children. This space leads into the lazy lawn and further into the grounded area, which includes a sandpit and large loose parts equipment for balancing and imaginative play. Our outdoor area is designed to inspire exploration and creativity in a safe, natural environment.

Activities

We offer engaging Sing and Sign sessions, along with weekly Make and Bake activities, providing children with fun opportunities to develop their communication skills and creativity in a playful environment.

Community Outings

We love getting hands-on with fun and community outings! One of our favourites is visiting the local fruit and veg shop with the children. They help choose fresh ingredients, and it’s a great opportunity to teach them about healthy eating and where our food comes from.
