At Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool in Writtle, we provide a nurturing and inspiring environment where children are encouraged to learn through play and develop positive behaviours, fostering their growth and development.

Our nursery is designed with both children’s learning and well-being in mind. Our facilities aim to enhance children’s learning experience and provide a safe environment for them to explore!

Our nursery is the perfect setting for your child to learn, explore, and thrive. We focus on building strong, secure relationships with both children and families, ensuring a sense of trust and belonging. Whether it’s our stunning Forest School or the engaging playrooms, we offer the ideal space for young minds to flourish.

In our latest Ofsted inspection we were thrilled to receive an Ofsted ‘Good’ rating across all areas of assessment. We believe this is a true reflection of our dedicated teams commitment to providing amazing childcare.

Our location

Our nursery is located in the picturesque village of Writtle, offering a peaceful yet accessible location. We are situated opposite ARU College and University and just a short walk from Hylands Park. With excellent local bus links to Chelmsford Essex City Centre and close access to the A414 and A12, Kiddi Caru Day Nursery is convenient for families commuting from nearby areas.

About Our Nursery

Early Years Curriculum

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, designed to support all areas of a child’s development, from cognitive and social skills to physical and emotional growth. While we base our learning on this framework, we also apply Hygge, Montessori, Forest School & Loose Parts methodology to deliver our learning in a calm environment that still implements outdoor exploration and plants a seed of curiosity.

Our Forest School in particular enhances the traditional curriculum, allowing children to learn through nature and outdoor play, fostering problem-solving, teamwork, and independence. Interacting with plants, shrubs, trees and creatures to learn more about the natural world adds a layer of awareness of their surroundings to children’s early years development. This curriculum is great for those interested in the great outdoors!

Team

Our dedicated team at our nursery in Writtle is highly qualified and passionate about Early Years education. With qualifications ranging from Level 3 in childcare to Level 3 Forest School Leadership, Level 3 SENDCo, and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), our staff are equipped to provide exceptional care and learning opportunities.

Parent Partnership

At Kiddi Caru, we believe that strong communication between families and staff is vital for each child’s development. Through our nursery app, parents receive real-time updates on their child’s day, from meals and naps to exciting activities and milestones. We also encourage families to join in with nursery life, offering regular events like Easter, Christmas celebrations, and summer graduation ceremonies to celebrate their child’s progress and special moments. We also offer a lending library, enabling families to borrow books to enjoy reading together at home.

Playrooms

We provide spacious, brightly lit playrooms and a wonderful communal area complete with a fish tank and Giant African Land Snails, offering children unique and engaging experiences.

Our room names are as followed: Dormice Room, Otters Room, Rabbits Room, Squirrels Room, Preschool and Forest School. Rather than transitioning children based on their age, we transition them based on their readiness.

Garden

Children can also enjoy our dynamic garden areas, which feature growing gardens with plants the children can grow themselves like roses and ferns. With free-flow access to the outdoors surrounded by beautiful trees, they are encouraged to stay active and explore their surroundings.

Activities

At Kiddi Caru, we offer a range of engaging activities designed to foster creativity, independence, and learning, our ethos is to create an environment in which every child can shine. Activity highlights include forest school, balanceability, Boogie Mites, baby yoga and Foundations for the Future. We also offer a range of seasonal activities and celebrations for families to participate in.

Community Outings

Children at our nursery benefit from regular outings in the local community as well as Forest School. From walks to the duck pond and local parks to visits to the green and nearby fields, our children explore their surroundings while learning about the world around them.
