Nursery Manager
Puddleduck Nursery in St Martins Church is nestled in the charming Chavey Down area. Our Ascot Nursery is the perfect place for your child to develop a lifelong love of learning. From the moment your child joins our home-from-home nursery family, our dedicated team works closely with you to ensure a smooth transition.
Catering for children under 3 years old, we provide a calm, nurturing environment with plenty of indoor and outdoor space for safe exploration, play, and growth.
Learning through play is central to everything we do, with our expertly trained staff following a specialised Early Years curriculum to foster curiosity and development. When children are ready, around age 3, they transition seamlessly to our nearby Puddleduck Preschool on Priory Road, dedicated to children aged 3–5.
Our dual-location approach ensures consistency and continuity in care, and we’re proud to provide an inclusive, safe, and welcoming environment your child can thrive from babyhood to preschool.

About our Ascot day nursery
Early years curriculum
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, ensuring children are supported across all areas of early development including communication, language, physical development, social skills, and emotional wellbeing. Our approach is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which places children’s interests at the centre of learning. Children are supported to explore ideas, solve problems, develop independence, and gain confidence in their own abilities.
We welcome children with special educational needs and disabilities and provide inclusive support to ensure every child feels valued and able to thrive within our setting. Children are encouraged to progress at their own pace; when children reach around three years of age, they transition smoothly to our nearby Puddleduck Preschool, ensuring continuity, familiar routines, and trusted relationships as they move towards school.

Our Team
Our nursery team is made up of highly qualified early years professionals who are passionate about supporting children’s development during these important early years. Staff work closely with children and families to create a nurturing environment that feels safe, calm, and reassuring. Strong relationships between children, peers, and practitioners help support communication skills, confidence, and positive social development. Our team takes pride in creating a setting where children feel happy, supported, and excited to learn.
Parent Partnership
We prioritise open communication with parents, using our nursery app to share live updates on your child’s activities, progress, and wellbeing. From photos of art projects to developmental milestones, we keep you connected to their nursery experience. We also host events like drop-in sessions, stay and play mornings, and talks on topics such as potty training and emotional development, offering support and insights as your child grows. Together, we aim to give your child the best start possible.
Playrooms
Our nursery offers two spacious playrooms, carefully organised to support learning, play, rest, and routine. Children have access to creative areas, role play spaces, quiet reading zones, physical play equipment, and comfortable areas for rest and sleep. Children are grouped by age and stage of development, including babies and older toddlers, allowing staff to tailor care, activities, and learning experiences to individual needs and interests. This supports smooth transitions and positive development as children grow.
Garden
Our outdoor area is an important part of nursery life. Children enjoy daily access to a generously sized garden with a variety of outdoor play equipment, where they can explore, play, and learn in the fresh air. Outdoor play supports physical development, confidence, social interaction, and a sense of discovery within a natural environment.

Activities and enrichment
Children benefit from a wide range of activities designed to support learning, language, communication, and wellbeing. Forest School sessions, led by a qualified and experienced practitioner, form part of our curriculum, allowing children to explore nature, develop problem‑solving skills, and build resilience through outdoor learning experiences. These activities which support healthy development, teamwork, creativity, and a growing sense of independence.
