Kiddi Caru Day Nursery, Soundwell, Bristol

A calm, well-lit space does a lot for a child’s well-being. Our open-plan rooms are filled with natural light and high-quality resources, our sensory room gives babies and toddlers somewhere peaceful to explore textures, sounds and calming activities, and all meals are freshly prepared on site by our trained chef.

We keep communication open with families through the GrandirUK App, sharing each child’s day, activities, progress and upcoming events. Across the year we host stay and play sessions and mark occasions such as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas, so families feel genuinely part of nursery life rather than visitors to it.

Sensory play, Boogie Mites and creative sessions fill the week at Soundwell, following children’s interests and supporting their development. We are also launching cooking classes with our nursery chef for toddlers and preschool children, giving them a hands-on way to practise fine motor skills and learn about healthy eating.

Our nursery in Soundwell is open-plan, bright and airy, with natural light filling the rooms and high-quality resources throughout. Each child has their own peg, a small thing that quietly builds independence from the first week.

Our baby and younger toddler room is cosy and nurturing, with sensory play and age-appropriate resources that help babies feel safe and supported. The older toddler room focuses on confidence and independence through fun, engaging activities, while children in our preschool room build communication, problem-solving and early learning skills ready for school.

Transitions between rooms are based on each child’s emotional, social and physical readiness, so the journey through their Early Years here is smooth and never rushed. Our sensory room offers a peaceful retreat for younger children whenever the day calls for one.

Outdoor space

Beautiful gardens surround the entire nursery, and each playroom has its own dedicated garden area designed to suit the age group using it. Mud kitchens, climbing equipment and natural materials give children plenty to get involved with.

Having so much garden on our doorstep means outdoor play is part of the ordinary day rather than a scheduled slot, and children build creativity, curiosity and a genuine love of the outdoors as a result.

Care at Soundwell is built on knowing children well over a long time. Our long-standing team notice when a child is finding something hard and when they are ready for more, and they keep families in that conversation so nobody is guessing about what a child needs.

Our Soundwell curriculum follows the Curiosity Approach alongside our key education programmes: Health & Self, Innovate & Investigate, Move & Groove, Make & Bake, and Sow & Grow. Supporting the Early Years Foundation Stage, they help children build curiosity, confidence and independence.

We believe curiosity is worth protecting. Our Soundwell nursery follows the Curiosity Approach, with open-plan rooms full of natural light and gardens on every side, so a question a child asks in the morning can still be being explored outdoors that afternoon. Every child has their own peg, and independence starts there.

Because Soundwell is open-plan and the gardens wrap around the building, siblings in different rooms can wave to each other across a fence at lunchtime. For parents it means one bus stop, one gate and one team. Subject to availability in the right rooms, we will always try to find space for a second child.

Kiddi Caru Soundwell is in the hands of Emma, our Nursery Manager, and a passionate, long-standing team with extensive experience in Early Years education. Our dedicated SENCo works alongside them to support children with additional needs, and ongoing training keeps everyone up to date with current best practice.
