Welcome to Kiddi Caru Day Nursery, Brislington conveniently located on Allison Road, just off Broomhill Road in Bristol. We welcome children from birth to 5 years and are open Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm.
Our Brislington nursery is well placed for families living or working locally, as well as those travelling from surrounding areas including Keynsham, Saltford and Bath. We are also part of our wider network of Bristol nurseries, giving families a choice of GrandirUK settings across the area.
Inside, bright and welcoming playrooms provide spaces designed around children’s different ages and stages, complemented by opportunities to spend time outdoors in our nursery garden.
Children’s wellbeing is considered throughout the nursery day at Brislington, with daily opportunities to spend time outdoors, enjoy active play and explore the garden.
Our long-standing in-house chef prepares nutritious meals for the children each day, bringing many years of experience and familiarity with the nursery and its routines.
Keeping families involved in nursery life is also an important part of our approach. Families receive regular updates about their child’s progress, daily routines and activities, helping them stay informed about their experiences at nursery.
Regular communication between families and practitioners also provides opportunities to share information about each child’s changing routines, interests and individual needs, supporting continuity between home and nursery.
Children at Kiddi Caru Brislington enjoy a varied mix of activities and experiences, including music, creative play and planned sessions covering different areas of Early Years learning and development.
Outdoor exploration also forms a regular part of nursery life, with children spending time in the garden and growing area, where they can explore nature and take part in hands-on experiences.
Regular outings extend these experiences beyond the nursery, giving children opportunities to explore the local Brislington community, discover their surroundings and experience everyday life beyond the nursery.
Our Brislington nursery has bright, well-resourced playrooms thoughtfully designed around children’s different ages and stages. Light and airy spaces are equipped with a varied range of resources and materials, giving children opportunities for hands-on exploration, creativity and learning through play.
Children move between rooms when they are developmentally and emotionally ready, rather than simply because they have reached a particular age. Each transition is carefully supported by the team, helping to provide continuity as children move into their new environment.
From babies through to preschool, rooms are arranged with accessible, age-appropriate resources that encourage children to make choices, explore their interests and become increasingly independent.
Outdoor space
Our generous outdoor areas form an important part of nursery life at Brislington, giving children regular opportunities to spend time outside, explore the natural environment and enjoy active and imaginative play.
Children have space to move, investigate and discover, alongside a dedicated growing area where they can help care for plants and experience how the natural environment changes throughout the seasons.
Quality of care at Kiddi Caru Brislington starts with getting to know each child as an individual. Our practitioners take time to understand their interests, routines, individual needs and stage of development.
By observing how each child is progressing, practitioners can adapt experiences and introduce new opportunities that build on what children already know and can do.
Children are encouraged to explore, make choices and try new experiences at their own pace, with practitioners nearby to provide reassurance, guidance and support when needed.
Our curriculum at Kiddi Caru Brislington follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), with a child-centred approach that considers each child’s individual starting points, interests and stage of development.
Practitioners use their understanding of each child to plan and adapt experiences, combining opportunities for child-led play with planned activities that respond to their individual learning and development.
Across the nursery, children have opportunities to communicate, create, move, investigate and explore through a varied range of experiences. Outdoor learning complements the curriculum, giving children further opportunities to explore the natural environment, follow their interests and make discoveries through hands-on experiences.
At Kiddi Caru Brislington, children’s individual starting points, interests and stages of development play an important part in shaping their learning.
Rather than following the same experiences for every child, practitioners use what they know about each individual to plan and adapt opportunities that build on their existing knowledge, skills and interests.
Outdoor learning is also an important part of our approach. Our Bristol nursery garden gives children opportunities to explore, investigate and test their own ideas through hands-on experiences with the world around them.
For families with more than one child, having siblings at Kiddi Caru Brislington means one drop-off and pick-up at our Allison Road nursery, while each child can enjoy the room, experiences and friendships suited to their own age and stage.
Brothers and sisters may spend their days in different rooms, but they remain part of the same nursery community. With rooms located within one building around our shared garden, there are opportunities for siblings to see each other and share parts of nursery life.
Sibling places are subject to availability, but where we have space in the appropriate room, we will always look at the options for welcoming brothers and sisters together.
Led by Nursery Manager Matt, our experienced Brislington team brings a range of Early Years knowledge and experience to the nursery, with a consistent approach to children’s care, learning and development.
The team works closely with families to understand each child as an individual, sharing information and adapting support as children’s needs change throughout their nursery experience.
Our practitioners also work in partnership with families to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), taking an inclusive approach that considers individual needs and helps ensure appropriate support is put in place.
