Nichola
Nursery Manager
Radcliffe‑On‑Trent Day Nursery and Preschool provides nurturing, high‑quality childcare and Early Years education for children aged 3 months to 4 years. Located in the centre of the village, our nursery offers a safe, stimulating environment where children feel happy, supported, and confident to grow.
We are proud to support families across Radcliffe on Trent and the wider Nottinghamshire area, providing Early Years childcare that focuses on children’s learning, wellbeing, and individual developmental needs. Our aim is simple: happy children, confident learners, and strong partnerships with families.
We are delighted that Radcliffe‑On‑Trent Day Nursery and Preschool is rated Outstanding by Ofsted, recognising the dedication of our team and the quality of care and education we provide.
Our location
Our nursery is situated in the heart of Radcliffe on Trent, just off the A52 between Nottingham and Bingham Road, making us easily accessible for families travelling from Nottingham and surrounding villages. Radcliffe on Trent is a large village in south Nottinghamshire, located on the south bank of the River Trent, and known locally as Radcliffe.
About our Nursery
Curriculum
At Radcliffe‑On‑Trent, our Early Years curriculum is shaped by curiosity and play, supporting children’s development at their own pace. Forest School sessions at Ruddington Day Nursery encourage outdoor exploration, confidence, and key skills, while our preschool provision helps children build independence and feel ready for their move to school.
Team
Our passionate team has extensive experience, including working with children with special educational needs. We are committed to providing inclusive childcare and ensuring every child’s needs are understood and supported. Staff work together to create a warm and welcoming environment. Children are supported by familiar team members who help them settle, build confidence, and feel secure throughout their day. Strong leadership and management ensure high standards across the nursery, with a clear focus on safeguarding, wellbeing, and high‑quality care.

Parent Partnerships
Our team works closely with families to share information, address concerns, and support children consistently between home and nursery. We use a nursery app to keep communication open and accessible, sharing updates, photos, and information about children’s activities and progress. This helps parents stay connected to their child’s day and supports meaningful conversations about learning and development at home. Our aim is to create a supportive, welcoming environment for families, where questions are encouraged and relationships are built on trust.
Playrooms
Our bright, well‑resourced playrooms provide a stimulating environment where children can explore, play, and develop essential skills. Children are supported to transition between rooms based on their readiness, rather than age alone, ensuring their individual needs are always prioritised.
Outdoor Play
Children benefit from access to a dedicated outdoor space filled with resources that encourage exploration, physical play, and curiosity. Outdoor sessions support children’s confidence, coordination, and connection with the world around them.
Food and Wellbeing
We provide healthy, balanced meals prepared on site, supporting children’s growth and wellbeing. Dietary needs are catered for, and mealtimes are treated as positive, social experiences within the nursery day.

Activities
Children enjoy a range of age‑appropriate activities that support learning through play and discovery. Sessions are planned to encourage curiosity, confidence, and the development of key Early Years skills, while remaining flexible to follow children’s interests. Activities may include creative play, group sessions, outdoor learning, and Forest School experiences, helping children explore, problem‑solve, and enjoy learning together.
Community Outings
We support children’s learning beyond the nursery through regular community outings. Using our nursery mini bus, children have opportunities to explore the local area in a safe and supported way. Outings help children build confidence, develop independence, and make meaningful connections with their community, extending learning through real‑life experiences.
