About Our Nursery
Curriculum
Our curriculum blends learning through play with a range of early years approaches, including the Curiosity Approach, Planning in the Moment, Hygge, and loose‑parts play. We are fortunate to have a Forest School area on site, used several times a week. This gives children the chance to explore nature, enjoy fresh air, and build confidence outdoors. Our educational programmes further enrich each child’s learning journey. This ensures children experience a rich variety of learning opportunities that reflect their interests and support their development.

Team
Our nursery feels like an extended family, many of our practitioners have been with us for years, we provide consistent, nurturing care that families trust. Most of our practitioners are qualified, and we invest in ongoing training to keep our practice fresh and engaging. Over 80% of our team are paediatric first aid trained, and we are proud to have achieved Millie’s Mark, recognising our commitment to children’s safety and wellbeing. Our SENCo‑qualified staff work closely with families to ensure every child’s unique needs are supported.
Parent partnerships
We believe strong relationships with families create the best outcomes for children. Our nursery app provides regular updates on children’s progress, routines, activities, and milestones, helping parents stay connected to their child’s day. We host stay and play sessions, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day events, Grandparents’ Day, and joyful graduation celebrations for our school leavers. Our family forums offer opportunities for parents to share feedback, meet the nursery manager, and be part of shaping the nursery experience.
Playrooms
Our spacious nursery is home to five age-specific playrooms, each designed to support children’s development through calming natural resources and engaging learning experiences. Caterpillars provides a cosy environment for babies, while Ladybirds offers younger toddlers a welcoming space with free-flow access to the baby garden. Bumblebees is a bright and spacious room for active toddlers, and Butterflies gives older toddlers direct access to the garden to encourage outdoor play and physical development. Dragonflies is our preschool room, led by a dedicated Early Years Teacher to help prepare children for school.
Outdoor Space
Our large garden brings Forest School principles to life, giving children daily opportunities to explore nature, plant seeds, build bug hotels, climb, and enjoy creative play. Two playrooms offer free-flow access to the outdoors, helping children move confidently between indoor and outdoor learning. For quieter moments, children can relax in the hammock or enjoy a book in the cosy reading shed.

Activities
Children enjoy Boogie Mites, arts and crafts, sensory play, outdoor exploration, and Sign and Sign for babies under two. These experiences support communication, creativity, physical development, and confidence.
Community outings
We take regular walks to local shops, the pet store, the care home, and other community spots. Our weekly visits to Leighton Rose Care Home are a highlight, creating meaningful intergenerational connections that children and residents adore.
