About Our Nursery
Tailored Curriculum and Early Years Education
Our Early Years education follows the Hygge Approach and the Curiosity Approach, creating calm classrooms that support children’s wellbeing, emotional security, and love of learning. Neutral décor and carefully chosen resources help create a nurturing environment where children feel comfortable and confident. Our tailored curriculum supports children’s learning through play, exploration, and real experiences, allowing children to develop at their own pace while building strong foundations for school readiness.

Our Team
Our passionate team brings extensive knowledge of Early Years childcare and education. All staff are committed to supporting children’s development, wellbeing, and confidence within a supportive and inclusive environment. The care and commitment shown by all the staff helps ensure an always positive experience for children and families at The Laurels. The team includes SENCO‑trained practitioners who work closely with parents to support children with additional or special educational needs.
Parent Partnerships
We place great importance on creating a welcoming environment and building strong parent partnerships. Our nursery app allows families to stay connected with their child’s day, sharing updates, photos, meals, and key learning moments. Open communication helps ensure families feel informed, reassured, and involved in their child’s nursery experience.
Playrooms
The Laurels offers calm, welcoming playrooms, designed to support children at different stages of development. Rooms are bright, airy, and well resourced with creative activities ensuring a fun environment for all our children. We also have a newly refurbished sensory room, providing a supportive space for children, and a baby room with a built‑in milk kitchen to support daily routines and giving our babies the best start for their Early Years journey.
Outdoor Play
Our large garden provides children with space to play and explore the outdoors. The garden includes a mud kitchen, climbing equipment, and planting areas where children can grow vegetables and care for plants. Separate areas support babies and toddlers, while preschool children enjoy free‑flow access from their playroom into the garden, encouraging independence and physical development.
Food & Wellbeing
Nutritious meals are prepared on site by our chef, following guidance from a registered dietician. We cater for all dietary requirements, with rolling menus that change regularly. Mealtimes are relaxed, social occasions that support children’s wellbeing and positive relationships with food.

Activities
Children participate in a variety of age‑appropriate activities that support learning, confidence, and enjoyment. Activities may include music and movement, Sing and Sign, yoga, creative play, Make and Bake, and Sow and Grow sessions, helping children develop skills while having fun.
Community Outings
Children enjoy opportunities to explore the local village and nearby parks, helping them build confidence and awareness of the world around them. These outings support learning beyond the nursery setting and encourage children to engage with their community in a safe, supported way.
