Our nursery is loved by families and children for its home-from-home feel which helps ensure your child is in a space that feels safe and secure. Our long serving and experienced staff will nurture your child, ensuring they are well cared for, safe and happy, so they have the confidence to explore and develop physically and emotionally while they are with us.

Our Kirby Muxloe Day Nursery in Leicester comes with an array of amazing facilities, activities and staff to help support your child’s learning journey. This includes a large vibrant garden, a cosy home-from-home feel and passionate qualified team members.

We are proudly accredited by Ofsted, following their guidelines to ensure we provide the best care and support for your children. Kirby Muxloe Day Nursery and Preschool received a ‘Good’ rating across all areas of criteria in our most recent Ofsted inspection.

Our location

Our Kirby Muxloe Day Nursery and Preschool is located in a beautifully converted house next to Kirby Muxloe Primary School in Leicester, making life easier for those with a double drop off and collection. We are right by the main park which is directly behind us. Kirby Muxloe is to the west of Leicester, surrounded by countryside yet only a minutes drive from the M1 for our families who commute.

About our Nursery

Curriculum

We provide a blended methodology curriculum that puts children’s creativity and development at the forefront. We offer high-quality Early Years education tailored to each child’s individual needs, supporting their development through engaging activities, exploratory play, and a carefully curated curriculum.

Team

Many of our wonderful childcare team at Kirby Muxloe Day Nursery and Preschool in Leicester have been part of our childcare setting for many years, including staff who have been with us for around 20 years. We have a mature and loving team, which includes SENCo qualified practitioners, who are highly experienced at supporting your babies and preschool children, and ensuring we provide the best quality care and learning space for children in their Early Years.

Parent Partnership

We love engaging with our families, which is why we invite you to join your children at Stay and Play sessions celebrating seasonal and cultural events, such as our Christmas themed evening. To provide daily updates we use our nursery app to enhance communication with our families and keep you connected with your child’s daily activities, meals, and milestones. This app gives quick access to photos and notes from our committed staff.

Playrooms

We have four playrooms arranged over two floors. Our Baby Room has a capacity of 12 with a calm and cosy sleep area. Our Toddler Room on the ground floor has free-flow access through our conservatory into our large garden. Our Nursery Room, for children who are ready to transition around the toddler age, has a lovely open plan room upstairs near to the bathroom for their toilet training. Our Preschool Room is divided to ensure lots of opportunity for small group time. Each of our rooms is well resourced with age appropriate toys and activities to stimulate curiosity, and support children’s individual learning needs and interests.

Garden

We have a large garden for all of our children to enjoy! We have a separate garden area for babies and toddlers to feel safe and secure. We have a large grassy area where children can climb and improve their physical skills, as well as a patio for riding bikes and scooters. We also a have a Forest School area and a nature garden with a growing area, catering to children who love to engage with nature!

Activities

At our Kirby Muxloe Day Nursery and pre-school in Leicester we include a variety of fun activities to support learning and development. We love Boogie Mites to help children learn letters and sounds, but also to get our little ones moving and grooving to music. Sing and Sign helps our children understand basic sign language and communication. We also do yoga to help our little ones with their strength and to gain physical control of their movement.

Community Outings

We try to incorporate as many community outings into children’s nursery life as possible. This ranges from walks to the local park sparking their curiosity for nature, to trips to the local library to ignite a love for reading!
