Curriculum

We provide a blended methodology curriculum that puts children’s creativity and development at the forefront. We offer high-quality Early Years education tailored to each child’s individual needs, supporting their development through engaging activities, exploratory play, and a carefully curated curriculum.

Team

Many of our wonderful childcare team at Kirby Muxloe Day Nursery and Preschool in Leicester have been part of our childcare setting for many years, including staff who have been with us for around 20 years. We have a mature and loving team, which includes SENCo qualified practitioners, who are highly experienced at supporting your babies and preschool children, and ensuring we provide the best quality care and learning space for children in their Early Years.

Parent Partnership

We love engaging with our families, which is why we invite you to join your children at Stay and Play sessions celebrating seasonal and cultural events, such as our Christmas themed evening.

To provide daily updates we use our nursery app to enhance communication with our families and keep you connected with your child’s daily activities, meals, and milestones. This app gives quick access to photos and notes from our committed staff.

Facilities

We are the only nursery and preschool in Kirby Muxloe offering childcare for children under the age of two. We aim to provide a range of activities and learning opportunities that spark curiosity and build confidence in our children.

Playrooms

We have four playrooms arranged over two floors. Our Baby Room has a capacity of 12 with a calm and cosy sleep area. Our Toddler Room on the ground floor has free-flow access through our conservatory into our large garden. Our Nursery Room, for children who are ready to transition around the toddler age, has a lovely open plan room upstairs near to the bathroom for their toilet training. Our Preschool Room is divided to ensure lots of opportunity for small group time. Each of our rooms is well resourced with age appropriate toys and activities to stimulate curiosity, and support children’s individual learning needs and interests.

Garden

We have a large garden for all of our children to enjoy! We have a separate garden area for babies and toddlers to feel safe and secure. We have a large grassy area where children can climb and improve their physical skills, as well as a patio for riding bikes and scooters. We also a have a Forest School area and a nature garden with a growing area, catering to children who love to engage with nature!

Activities

At our Kirby Muxloe Day Nursery and pre-school in Leicester we include a variety of fun activities to support learning and development. We love Boogie Mites to help children learn letters and sounds, but also to get our little ones moving and grooving to music. Sing and Sign helps our children understand basic sign language and communication. We also do yoga to help our little ones with their strength and to gain physical control of their movement.

Community Outings

We try to incorporate as many community outings into children’s nursery life as possible. This ranges from walks to the local park sparking their curiosity for nature, to trips to the local library to ignite a love for reading!
