At Little Cubs Greenwich, our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing and inspiring environment where children are free to grow and learn at their own pace. We pride ourselves on offering high-quality childcare and early education with a strong focus on wellbeing and personal development. Our passionate team is committed to supporting each individual child’s journey with personalised care and learning opportunities.
Our Greenwich nursery is equipped with age-appropriate rooms, rich learning resources and a large outdoor garden. With a strong emphasis on learning through play, we encourage children to be curious, confident, and independent learners.
Our location
Little Cubs Academy Greenwich Nursery, is a short walk from Maze Hill station, only 5 minutes’ walk from Greenwich Peninsula, The River Gardens, and a short drive from Charlton and Blackheath. We are located in a beautiful, purpose-built property with a large outdoor space, giving children the freedom to explore and enjoy the outdoors every day.

Curriculum
At Little Cubs Greenwich, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. We use a child-led approach, providing opportunities for learning that are meaningful and engaging. Our practitioners observe and support each child’s development and adapt planning to reflect their individual interests and needs.
We value the importance of outdoor learning and ensure children spend time outside every day in our large garden, which is equipped with a range of resources for active and imaginative play.


Team
Our team is made up of highly qualified and experienced early years educators. Each member of staff is committed to providing the highest standard of care and education. We regularly attend training and development opportunities to stay up to date with best practices and ensure we are supporting children’s development in the most effective ways.
Parent Partnerships
We believe that strong relationships with parents are vital to a child’s development. We offer daily updates through our nursery app so parents can see what their children are learning and experiencing each day. We also host regular parent meetings and run a variety of family events and activities throughout the year, where parents are warmly invited to join us. We welcome feedback to ensure we’re providing the best possible care.
Playrooms
At our Greenwich day nursery, we prioritise Early Years education, our playrooms are tailored to each age group and designed to cater to the unique needs of each child. Our baby room, Bear and Lion Cubs, offers the opportunity for all types of learning through play, whether it’s messy play, outdoor exploration, music, or games Our toddler room, Tiger Cubs, provides a great space to help nurture each child’s developing senses and interaction skills. In our preschool room, children can learn in a carefully planned, play-based environment that fosters confidence, independence and the skills needed for a smooth transition to school.
Garden
The outside area of our nursery in Greenwich features an organic fruit and vegetable growing area, mud kitchen and sandboxes. We like to give our children the broadest range of experiences with the best quality providers, so alongside our programme of activities linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Our nursery has a wonderful cosy garden, where children can explore, climb, dig and play in a natural setting. We believe outdoor play is essential for every child’s development and wellbeing, and our safe outdoor area provides the perfect space for imaginative play, physical development and learning about the world around us.

Activities
We offer a range of engaging activities that support every area of development, including music and movement, sensory play, role play and imaginative games, story time and phonics, and outdoor games with opportunities for nature exploration.
Community Outings
Our children enjoy regular visits to nearby woodland, Greenwich Deer Park, The Queen’s Orchard fruit and vegetable garden, Greenwich Ecology Park, and Mudchute Farm, one of the biggest inner-city farms in Europe. We also have a great relationship with the local care home, creating learning opportunities through intergenerational connections.
