About Our Nursery
Curriculum
Our early years curriculum is shaped around children’s interests and natural curiosity, supporting learning through play, exploration, and hands‑on experiences. Inspired by the Curiosity Approach and Hygge principles, our environments feel calm and welcoming, helping children feel emotionally secure and ready to learn.
Children enjoy a range of enriching Early Years experiences, including Sow and Grow, Make and Bake, Innovate and Investigate, and Move and Groove. These activities support early communication, physical development, creativity, and school readiness, ensuring our preschool children are well prepared for their next stage of learning.
Our team
Our friendly and experienced team brings a broad range of earlyyears qualifications, from Level 2 through to Level 6. Staff work together to create an inclusive, supportive environment where every child feels valued, understood, and encouraged.
The nursery team includes a qualified SENCo, who works closely with families to support children with additional needs. Each child is supported by a dedicated key person, building strong relationships with both children and families to ensure consistent care, reassurance, and communication.

Parent partnerships
Strong parent partnerships are central to nursery life. Families stay closely connected through our Grandir UK app, which shares daily updates, photos, meals, and key learning moments from their child’s day at nursery.
We also encourage shared learning and family involvement through our Book for Bedtime lending library and regular nursery events, helping to create a supportive and welcoming community for families in Burgess Hill.
Playrooms
Our playrooms offer warm, welcoming spaces designed to support children at every stage of their early years development. Children move between rooms based on readiness, ensuring the right balance of support, reassurance, and challenge.
Babies are cared for in a calm and nurturing environment with access to a dedicated outdoor space. Toddlers enjoy bright rooms that encourage independence, creativity, and exploration, with free‑flow access to the garden. Our Preschool Room supports school readiness through practical life experiences, daily learning opportunities, and access to a large outdoor play area. The nursery also includes a dedicated sensory room that supports children’s well-being.
Outdoor play
Outdoor play is an important part of daily life at our Burgess Hill nursery. Children benefit from a variety of outdoor spaces, including Astroturf and natural grass areas, an outdoor classroom, a mud kitchen, Forest School areas, and an on‑site allotment.
These outdoor learning experiences support physical development, confidence, resilience, and curiosity, helping children build a strong connection with nature throughout their Early Years.
Food and well-being
Nutritious meals are prepared on site each day by our chef, supporting children’s health and wellbeing. Menus are carefully planned to meet individual dietary requirements, and mealtimes are relaxed and social, supporting children’s independence and positive relationships with food.

Activities
Children take part in a wide range of engaging activities that support learning and enjoyment. These include music and movement, Sing and Sign, Boogie Mites, creative play, baking activities, sensory experiences, and Forest School sessions, supporting children’s development across all areas of the early years.
Community outings
Children regularly enjoy outings within the local Burgess Hill community, including visits to nearby play areas, shops, and familiar local landmarks. These experiences help children build confidence, social awareness, and an understanding of the world around them in a safe and supported way.
