Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool in Soundwell, follows the Curiosity Approach to inspire a love of learning and exploration in every child. Our dedicated team is passionate about this, and we’ve put our heart and soul into developing a unique curriculum that enhances the care and education we provide.

We incorporate our key Education Programmes; Health and Self, Innovate and Investigate, Move and Groove, Make and Bake, and Sow and Grow, to create engaging learning opportunities that support children’s development, encouraging curiosity, creativity, physical activity, and a healthy lifestyle.

Team

We have a dedicated, long-standing team of caring and hardworking individuals committed to providing high-quality care for our children. With extensive knowledge and experience in Early Years education, they build strong, trusting relationships with the children, ensuring they understand each child’s unique needs.

Our dedicated SENCo works closely with the team to ensure that all children, including those with additional needs, receive the support they need to thrive.

We are committed to the ongoing development of our team, offering opportunities for further training to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Early Years education. Additionally, we provide opportunities for career progression within our setting, supporting the growth and development of our staff at every stage.

Parent Partnerships

We use our nursery app to keep families informed about their child’s daily activities, progress, news, and any upcoming events at the nursery.

Throughout the year, we host ‘stay and play’ sessions, inviting parents to join us and participate in the activities their child enjoys. We also celebrate special events like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Christmas, bringing families together to strengthen our community.

These occasions help build strong bonds between our children, their families, and our nursery team, creating a warm and supportive environment for all.

Facilities

Our open-plan nursery is bright, airy, and designed for free exploration. Large windows bring in natural light and offer views of nature, while our natural and high-quality resources create a calm learning environment. Each child has their own peg in our homely hallway to build independence, and our sensory room provides additional support through engaging sensory activities.

Playrooms

Our baby and younger toddler playroom is designed with a focus on sensory play and activities, using carefully selected, age-appropriate resources. This cosy and homely environment ensures your children feel safe, secure, and nurtured.

For our older toddlers, we offer a dedicated playroom adjacent to the baby room. Here, we concentrate on developing their skills through engaging, age-appropriate activities and resources that support their growth and learning.

In our preschool playroom, we provide activities tailored to help children prepare for their transition to school. These activities are designed to build confidence and essential skills, ensuring they are ready for the next stage of their educational journey.

We thoughtfully plan each child’s transition between rooms based on their emotional, social, and physical readiness, rather than their age.

All our playrooms are interconnected via sliding doors, allowing our team easy access and the flexibility to adapt the spaces as needed. Each playroom also features its own garden, providing opportunities for outdoor free play and exploration.

Garden

Our nursery is surrounded by beautiful gardens, providing a serene and natural environment for children to explore. Each playroom has its own dedicated garden area, thoughtfully designed to suit the needs of its age group, our gardens are perfect for all-weather play.

With mud kitchens for imaginative ‘cooking,’ climbing equipment, and opportunities to connect with nature, our gardens inspire creativity, exploration, and hands-on learning. Surrounded by trees, children can observe bugs and small animals, build habitats, and enjoy the wonders of outdoor play.

Activities

We regularly take small groups of children into our sensory room for sensory play and quiet time, providing them with a calm, nurturing space to explore different textures, sounds, and activities that support their development.

We’re also excited to announce that we are launching our very own cooking classes with our nursery chef for toddlers and preschool children. These sessions will not only help develop fine motor skills but also teach the importance of nutritious meals, inspiring a love for healthy eating within our setting.
