Kiddi Caru Day Nursery Coronation Road celebrates positive Ofsted outcome

From children experimenting with herbs and flowers in the garden to the pride of mastering a new skill, everyday experiences at Kiddi Caru Day Nursery Coronation Road help children build confidence, develop independence and discover the world around them.

Following its Ofsted reinspection on 16 September 2026, the nursery received an 'Expected standard' in all areas, with safeguarding standards met. The report recognised the significant improvements made since the previous inspection, reflecting the nursery team’s commitment to strengthening practice and supporting positive outcomes for every child.

A team committed to continuous improvement

Creating a positive nursery experience takes teamwork, reflection and a shared commitment to doing the best for children. Since the previous inspection, leaders at Coronation Road have invested in staff training, coaching and professional development, helping colleagues build their skills and strengthen their approach to teaching and learning.

Ofsted recognised the impact of this work, noting that staff had made “significant improvements to outcomes for children since the last inspection”. Leaders have also worked with the local authority and the nursery’s in-house training team to help practitioners understand children’s progress and plan meaningful next steps based on their individual needs and interests.

The report also highlighted that staff feel supported and valued, with leaders listening to colleagues and responding to the support they need. This collaborative approach is helping the team build on its progress and continue improving the experiences children have each day.

Helping children grow in confidence

At Coronation Road, learning happens through the everyday moments that make nursery life special. Children enjoy action songs, music sessions and stories, while practical experiences give them opportunities to explore, experiment and develop new skills.

Outdoors, children might investigate herbs and flowers, make potions or discover how water moves through pipes. These activities encourage curiosity and give children opportunities to share their ideas, build their vocabulary and learn alongside their friends.

The inspection found that children achieve well from their varying starting points. Familiar routines and secure relationships with adults help children feel a sense of belonging, while staff encourage them to develop independence at a pace that suits their age and stage.

From babies practising feeding themselves to older children serving their own lunch, children are supported to take on new challenges and feel proud of what they can do.

Support tailored to every child

Every child has their own interests, strengths and support needs. The inspection recognised how staff work with families, local authority advisers and other professionals to identify where additional support may be helpful.

Practitioners monitor children’s progress and put targeted support in place, including for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and those who may face barriers to learning. Families are involved in decisions about their child’s support and can follow their progress through the GrandirUK App and daily conversations with staff.

This partnership helps the team build a clearer understanding of each child and make sure they have opportunities to participate, develop new skills and enjoy nursery life.

Emily Davies, Nursery Manager at Kiddi Caru Coronation Road, said:

“This is a hugely positive moment for Kiddi Caru Coronation Road and a wonderful reflection of our team’s hard work and commitment. Following our previous inspection, we listened carefully, worked together and made meaningful improvements across the nursery. I am incredibly proud of how the team has responded and of the progress we have made, which ultimately is about creating the very best experiences for the children and families in our care. We look forward to building on this positive foundation as we continue to grow and improve.”
