Little Monkeys Day Nursery and Preschool has been recognised for its warm, engaging and well-organised early years environment following its latest Ofsted inspection on 13 March 2026 has been recognised for its warm, engaging and well-organised early years environment following its latest Ofsted inspection on 13 March 2026.
Inspectors confirmed that safeguarding standards are met, highlighting a strong and open culture where children are kept safe, and a nurturing learning environment is provided. The nursery’s leadership was also recognised for creating a reflective and supportive environment where staff feel valued, and children’s needs are well understood.
A key strength identified was children’s behaviour and attitudes, which were judged to be a ‘Strong standard’. Inspectors noted that children “have a very secure attitude to their learning and demonstrate high enthusiasm and engagement in activities that staff have planned for them.” Children were described as confident, considerate and able to form warm relationships with both staff and peers.
Children settle well into nursery life, with inspectors observing that they are “keen to arrive and are confident as they separate from their parents and carers.” Strong attachments with staff help children feel secure, and transitions throughout the day are managed smoothly, supporting even the youngest children.
Communication and language were also highlighted as a strength, with children developing into confident and articulate speakers through everyday conversations, stories and play.
A real standout in the inspection was the nursery’s strong focus on real-world learning and community connection. Inspectors noted that “all children, including the very youngest, have daily trips into the local area to explore parks, libraries and local places of interest.” These regular community outings help children build confidence and understand the world around them.
Children also benefit from enriched in-nursery experiences that bring learning to life. This includes visits from local authors for interactive storytelling sessions, helping to spark imagination and early literacy skills. They also enjoy animal experiences such as butterfly visits, which encourage curiosity, care and awe for the natural world.
Independence is strongly encouraged, with children supported to manage routines such as handwashing and self-serving at mealtimes, helping them build confidence and life skills from an early age.
SEND support was also recognised, with staff using tailored approaches such as visual aids and individualised support to ensure all children can access learning and make progress.
Leadership was praised for being reflective and committed to continuous improvement, with staff feeling well supported and families closely involved in their children’s learning journey.
“This report reflects the strong commitment our team has to keeping children safe, happy and well supported. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility at Little Monkeys Nursery, and we work closely with families to ensure children feel secure and valued from the moment they arrive. We are delighted that Ofsted recognised the warm, inclusive environment we provide and the positive impact this has on children’s development.”
This outcome reflects the dedication of the Little Monkey’s team in creating a nurturing, inclusive and inspiring environment where children can thrive.
