Kiddi Caru Leighton Buzzard achieves Millie’s Mark!

Millie’s Mark is a special certification given to early years settings where all staff are trained in paediatric first aid. This achievement highlights the nursery team’s dedication to creating a safe, secure environment where children can learn, play and thrive with confidence.

What is Millie’s Mark?

Millie’s Mark was created to honour the legacy of Millie Thompson, who sadly passed away after choking on food at nursery in 2012 when she was just nine months old. In her legacy, Millie’s parents Dan and Joanne founded Millie’s Trust and have campaigned for impactful changes to first aid requirements for childcare providers.

Millie’s Mark is now a nationally recognised award that goes to nurseries who go above and beyond the minimum requirements for early years settings. To achieve this accreditation, nurseries must demonstrate that 100% of their staff are trained in paediatric first aid and able to respond quickly and effectively in an emergency

This gold standard provides reassurance to families that their children are cared for by a highly trained and prepared team at all times.
