Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool Taunton has achieved an Expected standard overall with a Strong standard in behaviour, attitudes and establishing routines following its latest Ofsted inspection on 25 March 2026 under the government’s new framework.
Inspectors praised the nursery’s warm, inclusive environment, where children show high levels of confidence, curiosity and positive behaviour. During the visit, children were seen engaging enthusiastically in activities, demonstrating strong concentration and perseverance while building independence and learning to manage their emotions.
The report highlights how children make steady progress from their starting points, supported by a wide variety of learning experiences. From babies developing strength and mobility to preschool children confidently communicating and collaborating in group play, learning is embedded throughout daily life. Storytelling, songs and play-based activities help to build early language and mathematical skills, preparing children well for their next stage.
Children’s well-being is a clear priority, with nurturing relationships and consistent routines helping them feel safe, secure and ready to explore. Staff know each child well, supporting emotional development, encouraging independence and promoting healthy habits through activities such as daily outdoor play.
Leaders were recognised for delivering an ambitious curriculum tailored to children’s individual needs, with staff using observations to shape meaningful learning experiences. The nursery’s inclusive approach was also commended particularly the support provided for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), with close partnerships between staff, families and external professionals.
Strong leadership and a positive team culture underpin the nursery’s success, with staff feeling supported and valued leaders maintaining strong connections with families and local schools.
Overall, children at Kiddi Caru Taunton are described as happy, confident and eager to learn. They enjoy a wide range of enriching activities, from imaginative play and storytelling to outdoor exploration, yoga and team games helping them build confidence, social skills and a lifelong love of learning.
