Grandir UK celebrates 100 nurseries with North Star Welwyn

From opening our very first nursery to announcing our newest setting, North Star Welwyn, the Grandir UK story has always been one of growth, ambition and a wavering commitment to giving children the best start in life.

While North Star Welwyn is still under construction and will welcome its first families in early 2027, its announcement marks an important milestone for Grandir UK. It is the 100th nursery in our growing network, marking a significant moment in our journey.

Reaching this landmark is about far more than a number. It represents the thousands of children who have learned, discovered and thrived in our care, the families who have trusted us with their early years journeys, and the dedicated colleagues who bring our nurseries to life every day. It reflects our continued investment in creating inspiring environments where children can flourish, while extending support to even more families and communities across the UK.

For more than 25 years, Grandir UK nurseries have been part of the communities they serve. Each setting has its own unique character, shaped by local families, colleagues and the children who walk through their doors. Reaching 100 nurseries is a powerful reminder of how far Grandir UK has come and the opportunities that lie ahead.

The organisation has grown into a network that supports thousands of children and families across the UK. Looking ahead to North Star Welwyn

Currently under construction and planned to open in early 2027, North Star Welwyn will provide more than 80 places for children aged from three months to five years.

The nursery has been designed with young children at its heart, with modern and purposefully designed learning spaces and an extensive outdoor area. These spaces will give children opportunities to explore, investigate, follow their interests and learn throughout their nursery day.

The opening will create new employment opportunities across leadership and early years roles, helping to strengthen the local early years workforce and create rewarding career opportunities for people who share our commitment to children’s learning and development.
