On 29 and 30 January 2026, leaders from across the business came together for the annual Grandir UK Leadership Conference 2026. The two days offered time to pause, reconnect with purpose and focus on the shared ambition that continues to drive Grandir UK forward.
Across the conference, there was a strong sense of pride in what has been achieved. Leaders reflected on progress across our nurseries and central teams, sharing stories that highlighted the impact of teamwork, consistency and a deep commitment to quality. These moments celebrated success while reinforcing the importance of learning from one another and building on strong foundations.

Storytelling helped shape the tone of the event, with honest reflections that highlighted the realities of leadership, growth and resilience. These shared experiences reinforced the core message that people sit at the heart of Grandir UK, and that strong, values-led leadership plays a vital role in creating positive outcomes for children, families and teams alike.
A standout moment of the conference was the keynote from Dr Jo Salter, Britain’s first female fighter-jet pilot and one of the BBC’s 50 Most Inspiring Women in the World. Jo shared her story with honesty and impact, emphasising the importance of resilience and confident leadership. Her message resonated across the room, setting an energising and reflective tone for the conference.
Looking ahead was a key focus of the conference. Leaders shared the direction for the coming years, including our plan and priorities for 2026. The emphasis remains on strengthening quality, consistency and culture across the organisation, underpinned by our values of being engaging, confident and inspiring. These values continue to guide how we lead, make decisions and support one another across every setting.
Well-being, collaboration and practical action featured strongly throughout. Leaders were encouraged to think creatively, challenge assumptions and work together to turn ideas into meaningful improvements that can be taken back into nurseries and teams.

Celebrating excellence was a highlight of the conference, with the GrandAwards recognising nurseries that have made an outstanding impact. The conference also provided a wonderful opportunity to recognise the incredible individuals and teams who have gone above and beyond this year. Awards were presented across a range of categories, celebrating those who exemplify the very best of Grandir UK, including Support of the Year, Rising Star, the Grandir UK Values Award, Outstanding Nursery Environment, Excellence in Education and Care, Growth, Inspirational Leadership and the Green Award. The biggest celebration of the evening went to Elan Day nursery and Preschool, proudly named Nursery of the Year. Each winner embodied dedication, passion and a commitment to creating exceptional experiences for children, families and colleagues.
A great highlight of the day was the presentation of Our GrandPlanet: The Planet Protectors, our new CSR book created following last year’s conference. The book celebrates our ongoing commitment to becoming carbon literate and features stories and illustrations created by children from Grandir UK nurseries. Its launch marked an inspiring moment, showcasing how even our youngest voices are helping to shape a greener, more responsible future.
We’ll be sharing more about the book in the coming weeks, including how families can get their own copy and join us in championing sustainability across our nurseries and communities.
The conference closed with a strong sense of momentum and collective purpose. Leaders returned to their teams with renewed energy, clear focus and a united commitment to what lies ahead. With a clear strategy, passionate people and a common vision, Grandir UK is well placed to continue growing sustainably while delivering exceptional education and care for every child.
