About Our Nursery
Our curriculum
At The Wishing Tree, we offer high-quality childcare and education built around our Foundations for the Future and ME models. We draw on a blend of approaches, including Montessori, Hygge, and the Curiosity Approach, to create a warm, inspiring space where children can explore, learn, and grow. Our curriculum supports every child’s unique journey, encouraging independence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.

Team
Our experienced and passionate team delivers high-quality childcare and early education tailored to each child’s interests. With Level 3 qualified nursery practitioners, early years teachers, and staff trained in safeguarding, first aid, and food hygiene, we provide a safe, happy, and nurturing environment where children can learn, explore, and grow.
Parent Partnership
We value strong parent partnerships and aim to make every family feel at home among like-minded people in our nursery community. Using the Grandir UK app, we provide real-time updates on your child’s day, from nutritious meals and autumn adventures in the garden to festive Christmas crafts and fun music and sensory activities.
Our open-door policy means we’re always here to offer tips, answer questions, or for parents to contact us to discuss their child’s progress. We also host stay-and-play sessions, social events, and a monthly “grab-and-go” breakfast to support parent well-being and connection.
By working closely with families, we create the perfect space for children to thrive, both in nursery and beyond.

Our classes
We offer five tailored nursery groups to support every step of your child’s journey:
Puffins: A nurturing start for babies.
Hummingbirds: Supporting toddlers with growing independence.
Toucans: For children aged 2+, building key skills through play.
Flamingos: Preparing for preschool with fun, structured routines – working closely with Toucans to ensure a smooth transition.
Owls: Our vibrant preschool group for children aged 3–5, where staff follow our curriculum while building on each child’s interests to support confidence, independence, and school readiness.
All our classrooms have free-flow access to the garden, encouraging exploration and connection with nature as part of their daily activities.

Outdoor Space
Our spacious Brighton nursery garden offers endless opportunities to explore, play, and connect with nature. From mud kitchens and growing areas to climbing frames and messy play, children enjoy outdoor learning in every season, from October autumn leaf hunts to sunny summer adventures. It’s a place where children build confidence, stay active, and develop a love of the great outdoors.
Activities
Children enjoy a range of physical activities, including yoga and sports. These sessions help them stay active, build strength and coordination, and support both body and mind. Yoga encourages relaxation, focus, and mindfulness, while sports promote teamwork, confidence, and a love of movement. It’s all part of helping children grow, stay happy, and enjoy a healthy start to life through play.
Community Outings
We encourage regular outings, whether it’s a visit to local amenities or an adventure into the nearby forest. These experiences allow children to connect with nature, supporting our nursery curriculum while nurturing a sense of well-being and exploration.
