The toddlers enjoyed using tweezers to pick up peas! They worked hard on their fine motor skills and pincer grip which helps to develop writing skills later in life. One child spent a while watching his peers as they used the tweezers, counting as they transferred the peas into a bowl. After a lot of effort, the little boy picked one pea up – to the cheers of his staff and friends. However, he spotted a spoon in the mud kitchen and quickly returned to the activity with his new utensil. He very pleased to be able to scoop lots of peas up at once rather than transporting one at a time. What a great example of using your initiative at such a young age
