The Old Barn Enjoy Sing & Sign

The toddlers at The Old Barn Day Nursery have enjoyed circle time in small groups to practice their singing and signing. The children were encouraged to use their words as well as their signing knowledge to communicate. They picked nursery rhymes and songs to sing, some of their favourites included, ‘Miss Polly’, ‘Sleeping bunnies’ and ‘Wind the bobbin up’. Due to the teams decision to have smaller groups, the children were able to ask questions and practise signs they wanted to develop. The Sing & Sign sessions are part of the nursery’s all inclusive activities. The sessions encourage communication, rhythm, confidence and gross motor skills.
