The children at Kiddi Caru Hounslow spent a lot of time outside and one of their favourite activities was bug hunts. They used magnifying glasses to search for creepy crawlies and discussed what they could see. Once back in the rooms, they were still keen to incorporate insects within their craft activities. So, the team provided a range of toy bugs to print with and make marks. During the session the children developed their mathematical understanding by counting the number of legs and wings.
