Careers

For many women, the question isn’t whether they want to work; it’s how they can make it work. Whether it’s raising children, supporting elderly relatives, managing health challenges, or simply being the only person everyone turns to, women continue to carry the invisible weight of multiple roles.
These responsibilities don’t clock off during typical work hours, and yet, so often, traditional employment models still expect them to.
At Grandir UK, we see things differently. We know that the women applying for our roles are often doing so with a hundred other responsibilities on their shoulders. That doesn’t mean they’re less committed, less capable, or less ambitious. In fact, it’s usually quite the opposite.
The statistics and stories speak for themselves. Women are still more likely to:
And for those without children, the challenges don’t disappear. Many women are managing complex households, community responsibilities, or their own health journeys—all while navigating a workforce that isn’t always designed with real life in mind.
We created GrandFlex not because flexibility is trendy, but because it’s necessary.
Whether you’re someone who needs to do the school run, support a family member during the day, avoid the stress of a daily commute, or simply need to reclaim a bit of breathing room—we believe work should fit your life, not fight against it.
GrandFlex offers a variety of working patterns to suit different lifestyles, and we’re proud that so many of our nursery colleagues are thriving because they can work in a way that makes sense for them and their families.
We’ve seen too many conversations around “working women” default to “working mothers.” While motherhood is a huge part of many women’s lives, it’s not the only caregiving role out there. At Grandir UK, we recognise and support:
We also know that having a supportive network—be it family, partners, friends, or neighbours—can make a huge difference. But not everyone has that village, and for those who don’t, the workplace often becomes a vital part of their support system.
That’s why we work hard to create a close-knit culture that’s not just flexible, but kind. One where women don’t have to apologise for being human.
Working flexibly doesn’t mean your career should stand still. Our Early Years Apprenticeships and professional development programmes are designed for people who want to build a future—even if they’re starting again or coming back after time away. Our apprenticeship programme seamlessly blends academic performance with hands-on experience. Apprentices will become fully immersed in nursery life while building their knowledge in core areas such as child development, safeguarding and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
From the moment you join, we offer clear progression routes, mentorship, and a team culture that celebrates growth at every stage.
You might start part-time. You might start small. But we’ll meet you where you are—and support you to go where you want to be.
Through our GrandWomen initiative, we’re championing women across our organisation year-round. From nursery teams to support office, our goal is to shine a light on the real stories, real challenges, and real achievements of women across Grandir UK.
Because visibility matters. So does listening. And so does creating spaces where women can feel seen, supported, and valued—every day, not just on a calendar date.
If you’ve ever thought “I’d love to work, but how would I make it work?”—we see you. And we want you to know that it is possible.
Whether you’re a new mum, returning to work, changing paths, or looking for your first step into a career that matters—we’re here, and we’re ready to welcome you.
